High School Fraternities

I go to the biggest high school in the state of Alabama. However, I've noticed that unlike schools surrounding us, we have no fraternities or sororities. I think it'd be good to have one so that people could get involved without being in some sort of honors society. How could I go about changing this?

There are plenty of ways to get involved in high school without so called high school fraternities/sororities.

Not to mention most high schools and school districts don't allow them.

Not important, the high school fraternities and sororities I am familiar with are more similar to Black GLO's in that they don't have to be school specific. My high school had a sorority which was more like a city-wide sorority in that the main public school, as well as the two small private schools all had members in it.

As I've mentioned before, my high school had a mostly white sorority and a mostly black fraternity. While not specifically feeders to a certain sorority, they were feeders to greek life in general. All my friends in DBS (the white sorority), went Greek in college. This may just be a coincidence, as they would ayways, but still. Delta Beta Sigma has alot of chapters across Arkansas, I believe.

It's a bad idea. I doubt a freshman, sophomore, or junior could comprehend the complexities of a fraternity or sorority. Not to mention the responsibility of running a chapter.

Wait until college.

High school fraternities just sound not cool. There really is no purpose for them.

Also many High Schools Have GLOs that aren't Sororities or Fraternities they are honors societies (i.e. Mu Alpha Theta is a Math Honor's Society)

I personally think this is a great idea. I was once apart of a high school sorority. The name of it was Chi Sigma Rho. Now known as Chi Sigma Rhoers which is affiliated with Sigma Gamma Rho. I learned so much from the members and advisors. I encourage you to form this organization. Alot of things can be learned. It had a great influence in my life.
