Okay to ogle at skankily clad women?
I have a friend who dresses somewhat provacatively. Always showing cleavage and wearing tight low-rise jeans, yet she gets mad when people check her out. She says she feels violated.
I had a professor in grad school who was forty, but fine! She always wore these go-go boots (shit you not), tight skirts, and well fitting shirts that accentuated her Grade A titties. Towards the end of last semester, she confessed that she recieves unwanted attention from her male students on occasion.
I know several women who show a LOT of skin on Myspace, but get upset when men send them messages trying to pick them up.
Should women dress however they want, and have the right not to be stared at or get hit on?

I always figured the skimpy myspace pics were for attention. To hell with them wanting to be left alone. I'm not buying it.

I second. If you put yourself out there, people will expect you to put yourself out

You have to wonder what their moms would say 'bout such ho-like poses, too. You see girls who you know act like such good girls to mom. But, they look like $50 tramps online.

It is okay to ogle these types of women.
Has anyone ever seen the episode of the Simpsons where Apu moves in with the Simpsons after losing the Kwik E Mart? He stacks the corn on the counter, Marge questions his method, and then as he predicts, Bart and Lisa meander in and decide that corn is just what they felt like eating at that exact moment.(Yeah, I know this is kinda random).
It's just like that. You are displaying goods. You are advertising. People are going to want to look at them. If you don't want someone to see your goodies, put them away.
How else do streetwalkers find work? They go and stand on the corner with something (hopefully, but not always) enticing hanging out.
Now touching, no. Hands off unless invited. But people can look all they want, and you can't stop them.

I def. agree if you wear a revealing top you cannot get mad at anyone for making suggestive comments. If you don't want to be oogled don't reveal your goods.
I honestly know a few women that dress that way and feed off of the compliments but then act offended because they don't want people to think that they really do enjoy it

Honestly, if you dress that way, men are going to look. When you dress that way, you can't get mad when guys check you out or hit on you.Same with MySpace. If you have skanky pics, don't get mad when you get creepy comments or messages.

:lightbulb: when i feel like attracting attention, i wear clothes that do such. of course im sure i could get similar attention without exposing all sorts of T&A, but nothing says hey-yo like a low-cut top and jeans that fit just right. or less.
and to take this slightly off-topic, when you put the goods out there, so to speak, people assume that its up for the taking at their leisure. and then comes that whole grey area of rape/sexual harassment and "was she asking for it?" angle.
(i know the PC answer is that rape is wrong 110% of the time, however, i seriously believe that one has to take preventative measures. you dont go out in the winter without a hat and scarf and not expect to get sick, right? and i know a cold is NOT the same as inappropriate touching or rape, but again, preventative measures. just keep the tatas in if you dont want any possibility of some freak reaching out and touching you.)

Has anyone seen "Luke's Parental Advisory" on VH1... LOL...
It's one thing when your child under 18 years old does it (if you let them), it's another when an "adult" wants to "entertain" folks...
I think it's the thrill of power one gets by that unwanted attention, but scary when that attention borders violence. And the whole thing is the person may be insecure by dressing that way in professional environments, unless the environment is "Adult XXX Entertainment" or "The Track"... LOL

For every skanky outfit, there is an equal and opposite ogle. It's just the law.

I think a grown woman should be able to dress how she wants to. She is who she is. The way she dresses and carries herself is just a reflection on her. It depends on the man though when it comes to staring. For some men it may be a turn on, but for others (such as myself) it's a turn off, when women show too much skin. (of course depending on the outfit)
