Recolonization @ SIU Carbondale :)
Tri Sigma will be recolonizing at SIU-C this spring!
The schedule:
January 22- Open House
January 23-Open House
January 24- Preference
Bids distributed between 3:00 and 5:00 pm on 1/24 and Bid Day Celebration at 7:00pm.
Also, if you're an alumna interested in helping out with the colony, submitting a reference for someone you know at SIUC, or otherwise assisting with the effort, more info is available here:

Pardon my crash...
do y'all always call it "redevelopment" instead of "recolonization"? I just ask because when I've heard the term redevelopment before, it was assisting a chapter with a more hardcore rush effort coordinated by HQ, but still keeping the current chapter members.

Yes. Anytime it's a colonization effort for a closed chapter, it's called a redevelopment. I just use recolonization because I'm used to seeing it on GC (and also because redevelopment means different things to different organizations).

Preference was yesterday, so I hope there are lots of happy new Sigmas at SIU right now!

Sigma Sigma Sigma currently has an interest group organized on campus in order to return to the SIUC community. We selected 11 women to move forward with the process and are recruiting to 40 women. At that point, we will return to campus and officially make the group a colony of Tri Sigma.
They are doing exceptionally well, and have recruited about 7 women since Sunday. I expect that they will be successful and I am looking forward to seeing how they fare!

So, did this not happen last winter??
Reading over this, I smiled and remembered that I was on the redevelopment back in 1986!!

Oh sorry, I never updated this. I think it was mentioned in the "all chapters of Tri Sigma, EVER!" thread that the colony was closed due to numbers.

Actually, there wasn't even a colony. It was only an interest group. There were not enough women to start the colony.
