The best thing to do would be to check out their website.

As an OU student: OU rush is somewhat competitive. It is not Ole Miss competitive, but along with Texas, it is one of the more competitive in the Big XII.
Recruitment usually lasts 6 days: one move-in and orientation day, open house day, skit day, philanthropy day/house tours, pref. day, and bid day.
I bet you know SOMEONE in a house, unless you know that absolutely NO ONE from your hometown went to OU. However, you NEED recs. The OU Panhellenic will say that you are not responsible for recs and that the house will obtain them, but get your own.

There are a bunch of Houston girls up there, and I know of many who have had very successful rushes. For Houstonians, OU is a very popular alternative (state school-wise) to UT or A&M. I bet you'd be surprised how many people you know there.
Good luck!!

if your mother is an alumna of a chapter that OU has, she could call that chapter to see if you and she could drop by for a house tour. this early in your planning process, they should be able to accomodate you.

I want to give a shout-out to the Sooners! I'm a CU alumna, and I always found the Sooner fans to be so friendly when they came to Boulder for a football game. (Okay, we're bitter rivals, but I know good people when I see 'em.)
Good luck, Caroline! I'm sure that you'll do well. Be sure to share your recruitment story with us when the time comes.

Very true- I was in Norman a few weeks ago for a game (with the opposing team of course) and everyone was really nice.

caroline09: You might want to be very careful about what you post here, because you have given us a lot of information about yourself. We (presumably) know your first name, your graduation date, your hometown, your legacy affiliations and the date of your campus visit. It wouldn't take a super sleuth to figure out who you are. Obviously actives read these boards too. I would hate for you to say anything that could harm your recruitment results. All you've indicated so far is enthusiasm , but I just want you to be careful.
Enjoy your campus visit (I just went with my daughter to her first one last week) and good luck next year!
