Mississippi State vs. Auburn
Is anyone watching this amazingness?
It's 3 (Auburn) to 2 (MSU) right now with about 7 minutes to play.

We are watching it! We skipped the Ole Miss vs. Samford game to watch the State game! I'm married to a State grad so I have to support the Bulldogs now and then!

The husband and I both agreed that was some of the ugliest football we've ever seen.

MS State Coach blew it! 4th down and 16 yards?? A 5th grader knows you don't go for it given the past 3 quarters!

I'm just glad we got out of that one alive!! Both teams had fantastic offenses!!
And I so called 3-2 as the final score when State punted to our 3rd yard line...and that was before they got the safety!

My husband, a Miss. State grad, said the defense just needed to stay on the field the whole time. AGDLynn, he also couldn't believe they didn't pun the ball on that play. Poor Dawgs.

It was ugly but pretty fun to watch. I wish that State has found a way to win it, but a one point loss was a lot better than what I was afraid of. It was just so weird.

And it was great that that Auburn guy "only" had a sprained neck. That looked like it could have been a terrible injury.

Oh I know...I was definitely worried about Brad until they said what his injury was...so glad it wasn't too serious!

Yeah, what a train-wreck of a game! My husband and I happened to stumble upon in during the second half, and despite no allegiance to either school we just couldn't turn away. Towards the end of the game we were openly rooting for fumbles, etc, just to keep it at that ridiculous score. It reminded us of that awful Alabama-Tennessee game from a few years back that was 3-0.
For those other insomniacs like myself- ESPN2 is replaying it right now. I am not sure I can punish myself by watching it again, but it was certainly a crack up the first time around.

Mississippi State has struggled offensively pretty much my whole life (maybe minus a few years with Jackie), in a way that's actually amazing in its own right. But Auburn was surprising.

I was very surprised that Auburns offense was not stronger. The game was a train wreck as far as offense goes. Next week auburn has to face LSU and if their offense does not pull their act together then I don't see how they can win. I don't know enough about football to know if this is due to the new spread offense, poor coaching, or weak players. And why wasn't Kodi burns put in? I didn't see the entire game but I know I never saw Kodi in the game.

Poor coaching gets my vote. To hell with Tuberville.

I saw pieces of a replay of it. I don't wanna blame poor coaching because they did limit Auburn to just a field goal, and that's an accomplishment. After all, that kicker for MS completely flubbed a field goal for an easy 3 points. That could've been a 5 - 3 victory. That was probably one of a few missed opportunities for real scoring.
Auburn needs to pull themselves together quickly. I'm looking forward to the Auburn-LSU game.

Ugly as the game was I would chuck the coaches just yet. It's the first year with a new offensive coordinator who's implementing his own system. That's going to be a little rough for a while. It hasn't cost AU a loss yet and I have to have hope that they will get it together for LSU. That takes a lot of hope.
