A Not So Live Informal Recruitement Encounter...

**Disclaimer**-As most of you already know where I go to school, because I didn't realize it would be hard to do a live thread at that point in time with that info out, this isn't going to be a day by day encounter while its actually happening. Actually it hasn't even happened yet...I just didn't want to forget what I've been through thus far.
----------------------------------------

Saturday:

This was supposed to be the day I signed up for informal at my school. We were supposed to have sort of 'festival' an advertising/student life frenzy if you will during the first weekend/week of school where I go. Well as it always seems to do in the Western region of the Carolinas it was horribly rained out.

Sunday:

We, friends and I, thought there would be a make up for the festivities today. No such luck so I called the Greek Life office. I didn't get through and I left a message but as soon as I hung up I realized I had forgotten to give them my phone number...

Monday:

I vaguely remember there being tables with girls in Panhellenic recruitment shirts, these shirts are always the same every year which is why normally you can pick them out quite easily, outside the University Center so I figured I'd go sign up/talk to them then. However there were no tables or anything so at a loss again I called the Greek Life office again. The lady I spoke to had no idea what was going on with recruitment/if it was even happening, took my number, and said she'd call back with an answer. So now I wait and I really hope I haven't already missed out on things.
-------------------------------------

**Side note**- I've actually already had run ins with various soroity girls while running errands on campus the last few days, I've been too scared/nervous to talk to them but I think the next one I see I will ask if I don't get a call back soon
-------------------------------------

Sororities (five, I have been told/seen that they all do informal in the Fall):

Fir
Oak
Pine
Maple
Cedar

( I was/am looking outside at trees...)
---------------------------------------

Preconcieved notions:

Fir- Don't really know anyone in this house, but from what I've seen they seem to be the 'top level' house and the girls seem to be absolutely gorgeous and outgoing. A girl in one of my classes last semester pledged here...last semester, but we never really talked too much.

Oak- They seem to be on a lower level than the other soroities and struggling, but I wouldn't really know and I think that I think this mostly because a 'kind of' friend of mine (who's two years younger) pledged here last year and she never seems happy to do anything servicey or even go to meetings or whatnot. Then again that may just be because she's weird like that...I also vaguely know a few others in this particular house but not all too well.

Pine- A close friend of mine a year or so ago, though we don't talk much now, joined here last semester. She's the only one I really know in the chapter but altogether they seem nice, pretty, and outgoing.

Maple- My RA last year was one of these and she seemed nice enough the few times we talked. Other than that all I can say is that they seem really 'sporty' but pretty and girly at the same time.

Cedar- I don't know anyone in this house, but they are the ones ( along with Pine) that I see around campus pretty frequently. They seem nice enough and I wouldn't mind beging one except for the fact that they've gained a kind of trashy nickname around school (may or may not be true I have no idea) and everyone I know is against me being one because of it.

Despite all of this, and the above may or may not actually be true, I am still open to all five houses and I really, really hope this starts soon.
