colony recruitment?

I know that during formal recruitment, sisters interview PNMs. In expansion/colonization, do alums conduct interviews? or do members from nearby chapters come and interview PNMs? I'm quite curious...

It really depends on the sorority that is colonizing.

I am a founding sister of my DG chapter and went through colony recruitment. It was a whirlwind!

For Delta Gamma, members of the DG Expansion team do the interviews. The team is 7-10 members and can include some local alumnae in the area in some cases. My chapter was lucky enough to have the International President (at the time) living in a suburb of our city, so it was neat to have her at everything. We also had the two women that would succeed her in Presidency there. I actually interviewed with the current DG President.

So interviews were with alumnae (but ones who are involved in DG big time at an International level). BUT preference night (if you were invited back after the interviews) was put on by the ladies of the Duke chapter (25 minutes down the road). They graciously came to do the ceremony just as they would during their recruitment. It was beautiful!

Good luck! It's an amazing, challenging adventure!

I know that several sisters (collegians and alumnae) from my chapter were contacted to travel to the Georgia Tech colonization for the first round of recruitment parties.

Also, two years ago (as a collegian) I was invited to help with recruitment at Dartmouth. I believe I was invited because I was a recruitment officer, but we were encouraged to bring other collegiate members/actives along with us as well. (unfortunately that week/weekend was fall break and I was headed back down south and already had standing plans to go to the UF-LSU game )

I think in the grander scheme of things we have a similar system in place as indicated by WhiteDaisy and her DG experience, but I just wanted to add some perspective/anecdotes from the other side (as a member invited to help with recruitment at other schools.)
