Delta Zeta in England?
I have heard that DZ is the only "international" sorority, and has chapter(s) in the United Kingdom. Is this true? I looked on their official website and it seemed to suggest that it is not.

IIRC, the only NPC group that had a collegiate chapter outside the US/Canada was Tri Sigma in Germany. If I'm not mistaken, that chapter has since closed.
I know there are several NPC alumnae groups with international alumnae chapters.

Thanks for the info! I wonder if any DZs know about the U.K. chapter rumor. I see a lot of places that it is a sorority with chapters in "the U.S, Canada, and the United Kingdom." Hmm...

Is your question:
1. Is DZ the only international sorority?
2. Is DZ the only sorority with a chapter in the UK?
Alpha Gamma Delta is International, however we do not have chapters in the UK. But then, we are a fraternity, not a sorority.

To elaborate on this, DZ is certainly not the only international NPC sorority, as many NPC sororities have chapters in Canada.
Seconding OTW, I've never heard of an NPC with a collegiate chapter in the UK.
I don't think the sorority/fraternity terminology matters here... Let's say that an NPC that is a fraternity and an NPC that is a sorority both chartered collegiate chapters in the UK... Surely the sorority that did so wouldn't then claim to be "the only NPC sorority with a chapter in the UK" unless they wanted themselves to get clowned...

Like on this site:
http://www.dzgreatlakes.com/alumnaechapters.html
It's on the national website as well. Maybe they're counting members of Surfing Sisters who live in the UK...but that would reeeeeaalllly be stretching it.

I was forgetting that many of our GLOs have chapters in Canada as well, which would make them international. So I guess my question is does DZ have a chapter in England and are they the only "intercontinental" sorority?

From the DZ website it looks like they do not have any collegiate chapters outside of North America.

alumnae chapters =/= collegiate chapters. If you look under the "list of Delta Zeta chapters" there is no mention of any UK collegiate chapters.

Wikipedia is not totally reliable. Anybody can change an entry. The sorority Web site should be the authority.

I've heard this rumor before about other organizations as well. More often than not someone mistook U of Kentucky ("UK") with the United Kingdom.
ADPi has Canadian chapters, making us an international sorority.

alot of GLOs are international. You only need one chapter in another country to claim that. However I did here there are intercontinental GLOs.

Yep.
And quite a few GLOs are international at the collegiate and alumnae/alumni/graduate levels.

The link that I posted says that the UK is in their "jurisdiction" - however, I do not see a UK alumnae chapter listed. They do list some that are in Canada.
adpiucf - I am hoping no one was quite that dense - I mean if something said ""Mu Mu chapter, UK" and someone thought it was the United Kingdom, they'd also need a name of a SCHOOL in the UK to go with it.
