Legendary Sportscaster Jim McKay Dies

I just about grew up watching him on TV and Wide World of Sports-and to this day I remember his coverage of the 1972 Olympic games.
He was so much more than a sportscaster.
RIP and Godspeed.

I remember that as well.

An unfortunate thing for people to remember you for.

Beside that, a real professional and one of the great broadcasters of our era.

I was 10 years old, and it was so eerie.
On a lighter note, I will most often associate Jim McKay with the Wide World of Sports. "The thrill of victory,......... and the agony of defeat"

Rest in Peace

His voice is one of the ones I associate most with sports. It's very sad - Bill Patrick did a nice tribute to him this morning on NBC.

May he rest in peace.

And his sweaters. For some reason, I remember his sweaters.

RIP Jim
