Redskins Safety dies after being shot in home invasion
Sean Taylor died this morning from a shot to his femoral artery in a home invasion on early Monday morning. He leaves behind a father, girlfriend and one year old daughter. As a member of "my team", I pray for him, his family and friends, and the Redskins organization.

I just saw that he died
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...topnews&sub=AR
The Washington Post said that a week ago there was a break in at his house, and that the intruders left a kitchen knife on his bed. Gibbs gave Taylor permission to miss meetings to deal with that incident...and he was home for this? It seems to me like they were targeting him.

This is pretty sad. The guy had a lot to live for. This doesn't sound like burglary or home invasion though -- more like murder and intimidation.

I can't even begin to imagine the agony his family is feeling. My sympathies to them, the team, and the fans.

I agree. Someone broke into the house a couple weeks ago, and now they come in again, breaking into the bedroom no less?
There are some things that are fishy about this story...at least they seem fishy to me. First, someone broke into this mansion twice within a week or two; doesn't this mansion have a security system or something? Or wouldn't the thief consider that the homeowners are probably on alert after the first break in? Second, it's bold to break into a house while the residents are there, and then to enter the bedroom they're sleeping in is incredibly bold - or stupid. A petty theif or amateur home robber is not going to do that. And a PRO would I think be smart enough not to get caught, or at least not be stupid enough to go back to the same place twice within a two week period. And then there's the business about the knife being left on the bed after the first break in.
This sounds more like a hit to me. Like someone was out to get him. They obviously didn't have a shot to the leg in mind, but it worked out that way anyway.

There's a reason I call them the Black KKK. The pain, the fear and the destruction are all the same.
Someone who loved Sean Taylor is crying right now. The life they knew has been destroyed, an 18-month-old baby lost her father, and, if you're a black man living in America, you've been reminded once again that your life is in constant jeopardy of violent death.
The Black KKK claimed another victim, a high-profile professional football player with a checkered past this time.

I know. I’m actually kind of surprised that it took him this long to comment/write something on the Sean Taylor situation.

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami-Dade Police Department has arrested four people in connection with the shooting death of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor.
Police spokeswoman Linda O'Brien identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. O'Brien said the charges for each had not yet been determined, but "we are talking murder and burglary."
