Anyhow, I just received an email from the "Faculty of 1000" that reviews all kinds of journal articles.

Here is one such article:

This month's Editor's Choice evaluation comes from the Pharmacology and Drug Discovery faculty, and will be of interest to many researchers, particularly those working on drug delivery methods. Amnon Hoffman says:

"The paper deals with a very interesting question: could bacteria be the future of cancer therapy? Mini-cells have been created that can carry high-dose combinations of drugs to exactly where they are needed without releasing them into the systemic circulation...These "mini bacteria" can be used as targeted drug delivery vehicles."

I can't see the article, but it sounds very interesting. During my PhD program I did a seminar on protein-polymer conjugate systems for drug delivery applications.

Anyhow, I would not be excited about drinking bacteria laced with chemotherapeutics. No matter what kinna cancer I had. Well, maybe I'd drink it if I had breast cancer...

I agree, but I could see the advantages of targeted delivery such as no hair loss, no nausea, no radiation burns, etc.

but what would the downside be? introducing all those bacterii (plural sp?) to the body can't be all good
