PM etiquette

When someone sends you a PM, that is polite and offers information that may be helpful to the receiver and their GLO, do you always respond? A simple, "thank you for your PM" would even be good enough.

I find that at least half of my PMs have been ignored, and I don't spam.

Anyway, I don't want to ruffle feathers, I just wanted to see what is "normal" around here. It seems like there is a small group among the many members who participate.

Thanks,
REE

I have 11 PMs from at least six weeks ago that I haven't gotten around to responding to -- it's my fault because I had a huge request for some help I needed, then I couldn't manage the volume of help I got.

So if you are one of those 11 -- I AM SO SORRY! I will get back to you, I swear!

It's not always possible, but I try to respond -- if just to say hello or thanks.

Me, too. I've had too many PMs which somehow got lost in cyberspace to not respond.

People should definitely always at least say thank you for the information. If not, then that is just rather rude.

Yup...

Respond if you want to. Don't respond if you don't want to. Unless you know the person off line or have had some interaction with them on here that would make them expect a response, it doesn't matter either way.
