I totally agree with you!!! I hear that song about 7563756821 times a day. The first time I heard it, I didn't think it was that bad. It seemed like a good clubbing song, but now I think I would rather listen to my profs lecture. That song is soooooo annoying! I am so happy someone agrees with me cuz my friends love it so I am always stuck listening to it when they drive...ugghhhh!!!

Thumbs down

Ugh, that song is THE WORST!! I can't stand that song either! Man, I thought I had gotten away from that song. I went to Caribana last summer in Toronto w/ my parents. EVERYWHERE we went, be it a restaurant, store, walking down the street, etc, they played it! Then my parents had the NERVE to BUY the song and play it on the way back home It was awful! Now, this song is back and I'm hating every minute of it!

Yesterday was the LSU vs Mississippi State football game - and since they're the bulldogs, that got played a lot. As the MSU people drove around campus, they blared it out of their car windows.

On a quasi-related note: does your school do tailgating for home football games? Apparently I'm being told that LSU is unique in the way that people bring their RVs and camp out, or the way they bring their families and picnic and bbq all day before the game. Any input on this?

Exclamation

I don't CARE who let the dogs out. Call the dog catcher!!!

This song is the "Mambo #5" of 2000. Hear it 1-5 times, cute tune. 10-15 times, kinda irritating. After 30+ times, thoughts of murder come into your head.

My solution? Listen to your local public radio station. You hear a lot of cool things you never would otherwise.

A funny thing happened in my Human Anatomy lab today....We're quietly working in our groups disecting cats, and one of the guys at another table all of a sudden belts out his own song...."Who let the cats out!" out of no where. Ya had to be there.

on juniorgrrl's quasi-reply question:

I don't know about the rest of the state, but I know that at the University of Texas we tailgate like CRAZY. Here are some examples of the weekly behavior of my friends:

1) The state parking lots which border the stadium and university grounds are not available until Friday at 6:00 PM. So, for prime parking at the tailgate spot, everyone will go directly there after work, and leave various vehicles overnight, and then catch rides home.

2) I just heard about a friend of a friend who spent $6,000... on a smoker! It's cast-iron and sits on a big trailer that he can tow behind his truck, and it also has a place for two kegs, and a picnic table folds out. The smoker or grill, as tailgaters know, is required in some form -- from the over-the-top version I just mentioned to the little hibachi that you toss in the backseat. This is for the cooking of sausages and burgers on game day.

3) Texas kicks off tomorrow at 11:30 am. That means that the tailgate party will begin at 8:30 for the diehards in our group, 9:30 for the semi-diehards, and 10 am for all the girls.

For a 2:30 kickoff we will go down to the stadium at 11 or noon. For a 6:00 kickoff we go at 2:00 at the latest.

Now, when I was IN college, we never tailgated. We pre-partied before games at someone's apartment or a fraternity house, usually with barbecue, etc. But now that I am alum, it is required. The entire weekend's plans revolve around home football games.

I have heard that Oklahoma is the same way about the tailgating...

more on this: I don't want to give the impression that this is just my friends! There are literally thousands of people packed into all the parking lots around the stadium going through the exact same rituals. It is like one HUGE party spread out over twenty blocks.

And, one of the reasons that it is so much fun - the OTHER team's fans are never there! You are always with your own school's fans, so you can celebrate or commiserate together.

Cool

Hey Texas Alum,I see the EXACT same thing here. My parents are Massive 49'er (40-whiners)fans and they do the same thing: Kickoff at 3? Tailgate at 830AM. My parents group are well organized--they plan their menus at the end of each season. (All the other 49ER fans who tailgate do the same thing)
I went to the 49er/Oakland game and it was amazing. Those damn Hibachi's were everywhere and you could not escape the smell of bar-b-q ribs.

At the lots here you can't park overnight but at the crack of dawn, the line starts to grow. We also get a LOT of campers/winnies.

I suppose if I were a 9er fan it would be fun.. GO COWBOYS!
