ABC has ordered a TV pilot based on Geico
insurance’s cavemen advertising campaign.
Cleverly titled Cavemen, the show will
follow the Neanderthals in their “struggle
with prejudice on a daily basis as they strive
to live the lives of normal thirty-somethings
in 2007 Atlanta.”
oh come on - really? i hope this is as much a joke as that stupid Sinbad hoax!
i cant believe Geico would OK this - and i really liked those ads. they didnt need to be the basis of a TV show.

I have yet to see Autoweek make that kind of a joke. Without labeling it as one.
And I do agree with you-a TV show one them? Was sort of funny when SNL did three minute skit on same idea but 30 minutes?????

Apparently not. It's been reported in a variety of places, including . . . well, Variety.

Not a joke sadly. And as some articles have mentioned, the last time a commercial mascot got a TV show it was Quizno's Baby Bob(?) and the show sucked.

I can top this.
I just heard this morning that there's going to be a show called "National Bingo Night" or something like that. They're going to be calling out the numbers and people at home can play along.

I think they're hysterical - "What, so having Geico makes me less of a caveman?" or the utter disdain when he's on CNN and starts with "First off, I'm not really in love with your tone right now . . ."
I don't even know why - I giggle like an idiot at the one in the airport w/ the cheesy Royksopp track.
Through this, however, I am nearly 100% certain the show will suck - meh, too bad.

As you can tell from my signature, I kind of enjoy them, although I agree that they may just be lowering my IQ, three minutes at a time.
However, the show may be a bit much.
