Smile Fall Eleusinian

Hey girls! I need your help. I am the Director of alumni relations this year and I was talking to the sisterhood chair about plans for the Fall Eleusinian. Have any of y'all done anything really special for the Eleusinian? We want to find a way to incorporate the alumni into our events. Thanks for any of your suggestions.

Melanie

Every year we have Owl Fest instead of a monday night dinner, Its basically put on by the alum association, and all alums are invited to the chapter house for like, dessert and coffee and stuff to mingle with the active chapter and to celebrate fall eleusinian. This is also when the new members are presented to the alums and usually when they are told their initiation date

What is Monday night dinner? Do you have a cook at your house? My chapter is relatively small. We have about fifty girls. What chapter are you from?

We don't have a house but we still meet in the student center in some rooms on Monday nights.
For Fall Eleusinian we usually have a dinner at the University's Alumni House. We'll also do a mini scholarship reception from Spring Semester.
We've also done things such as gone to our sister's soccer games and then tailgate with the Alumna afterwards.
This last Spring we had a nice dinner at an Italian Restaraunt. It was super nice and of course Alumna were invited. Then we held a Chi Omega Auction. People had brought items to be auctioned off and so it was a lot of fun...and the money went towards our housing fund.

We don't have a cook, we have a cook committee (2-3 girls) that is in charge of making sure dinner gets cooked/bought. Sisters sign up for different nights to cook at the beginning of the semester. Monday night dinners are very special to our chapter, great food and time to catch up with your sisters. (We have approx 100 members and we have a house but we don't live in it.) For the fall we usually have a cookout/dinner with the alum group instead of regular monday night dinner. Hootie, I love the idea of an auction to raise $$ for the house b/c ours is getting some major work done on it!
