Pee Wee's Playhouse!
This awesomely fabulous wonderful show is on Adult Swim. I don't remember what time it was on, but I was so excited to watch it last night.
It was even funnier to realize that two of the kids on there were the curly redhead from American Pie and the bigger Hispanic (?) kid from The Mighty Ducks. I don't remember either one of their names, but they were like maybe 6 years old or so and so cute! There was an Asian little girl on there too but I couldn't figure out if she is still around.

Haven't caught it on adult swim yet but I have to say if they're going to show live shows on CARTOON Network, then PeeWee is WAY better than Saved by the Bell that they did earlier.
I think they changed the name to "Crappy 80's Sitcom network" or something for the night. I like SBTB but it is not to be watched on Adult Swim!

I had meant to post about this before but kept forgetting. I LOVE THIS SHOW. Every Saturday when I was in college, we'd get our cans of OJ for hangovers and then settle in to the TV room and watch Pee Wee. It seems unnatural to be sitting on my own couch watching it now!
I had to call my little last night and inform her that Larry Bud Melman was on the show. What's even better is seeing Laurence Fishburne (aka Cowboy Curtis) and S. Epatha Merkeson (aka Reba the Mail Lady) back before they were who they are now...LOL.
It's on at 11 PM Monday thru Thursday and I think it repeats at 2:30 AM or something.

Ok first I love the show too - I love when peewee dances with conky right after he unpluggs him for the "word of the day" - AAAHHHHHHHHHH - I love penny cartoons and I miss the song that they use to sing right before the King of cartoons came in - "thats right you heard us correctly . . .he'll be right in directly . . . . . the king, the king, the king of cartoo oo oo oons." I don't know why that was cut out - but any way LOVE THE SHOW
Second and this is the funny part of this post is - I have been telling my husband that Cowboy Curtis was a young Samuel Jackson - man I don't know what I was thinking of course it is Laurenc Fishburne - I am laughing right now just thinking about how Samuel Jackson would have played Cowboy Curtis. I had to call him to tell him I was wrong (he doesnt get to hear that much )

LOVED watching this show on Saturday mornings when I was in college. What a way to recover from a Friday night party!
My fave character is Jambi.
When baseball player Jason Giambi was in the news a few years ago for steroids (?), everytime my husband & I would hear "Giambi," we'd say, "Mekalekahi, mekahiney-ho!"
And if you're a Seinfeld fan, the guy who plays Jambi (Jon Paragon) is one of the armoire thieves ("Are YOU talking to ME?") in the famous "Soup Nazi" episode...aka the "Shmoopy" episode.

They don't make children's shows like that anymore. Now we have the annoying flaming Wiggles or Dora The Explorer who is equally annoying. Pee Wee got kids excited to learn. Now it's all like hunky dory sunshine up your ass stuff. I didn't know it was on DVD. I think I shall buy them for my niece and nephew! Show them what REAL children's learning is about. lol

Pee-Wee Back for Two More Films?
Posted Jul 27th 2006 3:28PM by Erik Davis
Filed under: Comedy, Fandom, Family Films, DIY/Filmmaking, Remakes and Sequels
Way back in November, Martha told us how Paul Reubens was planning on revisiting his alter-ego Pee-Wee Herman for at least one more film. In a recent interview with the Onion's A.V. Club, Reubens talks about the new film, as well as his plans to also make an additional "darker" Pee-Wee flick.
As far as the first movie goes, Reubens says it may be ready to start filming early next year. Described as a feature film version of the old TV show Pee-Wee's Playhouse, the story will follow all of your favorite characters from the show as they take part in an "epic adventure" outside of the playhouse. On whether he will be giving the puppets an updated look, Reubens wants the whole thing to look as low-tech as possible ... probably because the budget for this puppy is pretty low.
Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about this. While I'm a big fan of Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, it's been 18 years since the guy has taken on the role. At 54, does he still have enough juice in him to bring back the extremely lively and vivacious character? Will his one perverted mistake come back to haunt him and prevent audiences from truly accepting Pee-Wee back into their hearts? What do you think?

Lol Reubens may have been the pervert.
But Pee Wee is my hero.
My brother shot down the idea of me buying the DVDs for my niece and nephew. Too bad. I'm gona do it anymore. I'd rather hear his laugh than those stupid Wiggles songs.
