Sorry they closed your thread about Bush Starang21 but...

That's how they roll when it comes to criticism of Bush....yet they're always complaining about the liberal media. It seems that two things Bush supporters hate most are (1) Open and fair debates and (2) A fair fight.

Two liberals moderate this forum, one a Democrat and another a liberal foreigner that isn't voting in our elections (I don't think he is anyway).

Sorry to burst that bubble.

I agree it should be opened because I wanted to respond to one specific girl in there

Yeah, you're way off. Moe.ron and TKE are frequent critics of the president. If anything, they'd be more likely to let a thread like that continue.

Also, I wouldn't paint all Bush supporters with a broad stroke (just as I wouldn't paint all Kerry/Gore/whoever supporters with one stroke), but if you want to generalize, go right ahead. Just know that it's not a fair generalization.

How do Bush supporters not like open and fair debates?

Why does a debate have to be a fight? I'm not sure what you're trying to say by saying "fair fight," but my guess is that you think that any political debate has to be a fight? Why don't you explain that for us.

AXEAM (sp), I'm not sure what you're background is, but you should know better than to think you could get away with saying something like this without someone calling your hand.

Or that if conservatives give an alternate side of the debate, we're not being "open and fair."

Action speaks louder then words I started several threads that were critical of Bush and w/o fail they were always closed now S.21 thread is closed.

(1) Open debate: closure of threads critical of Bush (N&P forum).

(2) Fair fight : Attacking those who are critical of Bush yet they seem to have forgotten how they dragged Clinton over the coals ...yet he didn't make half the dumb decisions of Bush.

The threads are being closed due to personal attacks. If people can't 'play nice,' threads will be deleted.

I hate to characterize others, but I don't think I'll get much argument from the mods in this forum when I say that compared with America's political center, they are way over on the left.

Bottom line -- if you feel you are being discriminated against because of your political views, you might want to look to someone besides Bush supporters to blame. They had nothing to do with it. You might instead call into question some of the debating tactics (i.e., personal attacks) that are all too common on both sides of these "fights" as you call them.

Exactly - couldn't have said it better myself. People on both sides of the aisle have had problems being civil in the past, and to blame it on only one side doesn't make sense.

So what you're saying is that liberal Democrats are closing threads about Bush? I guess they don't like open debates and I'm not so sure you're going to find someone that was on GC during Clinton's term that talked bad about him so perhaps that's invalid.

But yeah, you're right about liberal Democrats closing threads about Bush :P

How about sending a warning to the parties who engage in personal attacks that way others who have an opinion about the thread can post w/o being denied access.

In all honesty I didn't see a personal attack in the last thread that was closed. I don't understand what went wrong there.

that's how it happens on this site mi amigo. eehh, them's the breaks. soft hearted people can't take criticism very well.

i do applaud those who actually put thought into their criticism of the article, though.
