Sad News

My chapter of Beta Sigma Phi is disbanding at the end of June (after we do SS Revealing). We have one member who travels a lot, one member who is transfering to another state because of a new job, one who works every Saturday (our meeting day)... We were a new friendly venture and just never "got together" as a strong sisterhood group. I'm doubly disappointed about this because this was the ONLY group in my area to contact me (after I contacted Natl's TWICE). There are two other groups that have said they would take my chapter's members, but one has a "15 mile limit" restriction on where members live and I don't live within that area. I don't know much about the other group. I'm just very disappointed and don't know what to do about membership. I'm paid up for this year and the next, but I don't know what to do about finding a chapter...

Sorry for the long ramble, but I needed to get this off my chest...

Oh Nicole, I am so sorry to hear this. I wish I was in your area...when we relocate (man I hope it is soon) I will be looking for another land chapter

I'm sorry to hear this, Nicole. Getting a Friendly Venture to "gel" can be really hard. Our chapter is struggling with the same thing right now.

I wrote a program for Online Kappa about being an "active" member-at-large. Maybe I'll post it here. Also, online chapters now get full recognition, so maybe you should consider joining one. (OLK...hint, hint!)

Erica- I considered before about joining an on-line chapter. I think that it's something I'm going to look into again. And hopefully another chapter around here will be good with me... I guess it's a wait and see.

Thanks to everyone for all of the on-line chapter visit invites. I'm going to take a look at all of the chapter websites and narrow it down to a few before contacting any of them. I do appreciate all of the support! You guys are great!
