Nicolas Cage and wife name kid after Superman

...and no, his name isn't Clark Kent.

Quote:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage's wife of 14 months gave birth on Monday to the couple's first child together, a son they named Kal-el -- a moniker recognized by comic book fans as the birth name of Superman.

The child's delivery in New York City and his full name, Kal-el Coppola Cage, were confirmed by the actor's publicist, Annett Wolf, who said of the family, "They are healthy and happy and it's quite lovely."

I figured they'd name him Elvis considering Cage's fascination with him.

In a normal school maybe, but he'll probably go to school with other unusually named celebrity children like Apple.

But Nick has an even bigger comic book fsacination. According to IMDb, he took his stage name "from comic book character Luke Cage." (His birth name is Nicholas Kim Coppola.)

*SMH*

They were talking about this on The View today. Star Jones mentioned that she used to hate the fact that her name was "star", .... until the boys started saying it.

And by "the boys" she meant the pizza delivery people who knew her by name and tried to block her phone number.

Man, I simply must stop posting on GC when I haven't had enough caffeine!

That looks like a cool name.

My cousin's family's last name is Kent... when my aunt was pregnant, my dad tried to convince her to name the baby Clark.

She didn't though. Her son is married now, so maybe now it's my turn to try to convince him to name his future son Clark?

Thumbs up TTT/Here's what Kal-El looks like

The name is odd as can be, but the baby's cute.
