Christina Aguilera ties the knot...ENews! article.
Christina Aguilera Goes Bridal
by Sarah Hall
Nov 19, 2005, 8:05 PM PT
Christina Aguilera has gone from Dirrty Girl to married girl.
The pop princess, 24, and her longtime boyfriend, music mogul Jordan Bratman, 28, swapped vows Saturday in a lavish ceremony at Napa Valley's Auberge Du Soleil resort.
It's the first marriage for both. Word leaked of the nuptials on Friday, with the press descending en masse to wine country. Us Weekly was the first out of the gate Saturday with news that the "I dos" went down.
Aguilera wore a Christian Lacroix dress and the pair were exchanged wedding bands designed by London-based jeweler Stephen Webster, who also created the singer's five-carat diamond sparkler.
The bridesmaids wore dresses designed by Kai Milla, Stevie Wonder's wife.
Aguilera and Bratman got engaged in February, after Bratman popped the question in a hotel room in Carmel, California.
"He got down on one knee and said, 'Will you do me the honor of being my wife?' I've been floating ever since," Aguilera told People at the time.
The pair celebrated their engagement with a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Las Vegas over Halloween weekend, to which the "Beautiful" singer came dressed as a nurse and Bratman came as a doctor.
Aguilera and Bratman met in 2002, when he worked at her management company, AzoffMusic Management.
Aguilera, a Mouseketeer turned pop diva, has earned considerable raves for her vocal chops over the past several years, chalking up a Best New Artist Grammy in 1999, a Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals Grammy in 2002 for "Lady Marmalade" and the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance Grammy for "Beautiful" in 2004.
She is currently at work on her upcoming album, which she recently described on her paid fan site as a "throwback to the 1920s, '30s and '40s" and her "best work yet." The as-yet untitled album is expected in the spring.
"It's been really fun experimenting, challenging and pushing myself to bring you something completely different and revealing," Aguilera wrote on her site.
The singer attributed some of her musical growth to her relationship with Bratman.
"We have introduced each other to whole new worlds of music, so it will definitely show!" Aguilera wrote.
"I start to cry when I think of all he has brought to my life," she wrote. "As a team, we make each other stronger, wiser...just better."
Here's to many more years of reciprocal betterment for the "Stripped" singer and her new husband.

Hot off the wire (Alfredas on the Russ Parr show)
HOT OFF THE WIRE DMX Does Rikers, Jeezy Aint Sorry For The Snow, Cam Won't Snitch...
On Friday DMX was sentenced to 70 days behind bars including an extra ten days because he showed up thee hours late to court. The judge says he gave him the additional punishment because he showed a lack of respect and immediately sent him to Rikers. X blamed his lateness on an asthma attack.
More on Diddy and the lOx- for the record- diddy says he only made about 400-thousand dollars off the group throughout their career, while they had only generated about one-point-five-million dollars total. HE also made a really good point he said. .."I want to see them or any other artist (try this with another label- call sony and ask them to just let me out the contract -- No. You ain't gonna call Sony with that, because they are not gonna take your call. You not going to call Universal with that, because it's a contract... This isn't gangsta. This isn't even manly. This is borderline funny-style... Diddy didn't stop there- he called Voletta because Cease had said that Voletta wanted him on the biggie album and that diddy had blocked it- so Voletta said that Cease should mind his own business—
Young Jeezy makes no apologies for his past as a drug dealer, and he says the snow man isn't such a big deal. Jeezy says he'll continue to promote the Snowman -- in fact, it's the logo for his forthcoming clothing line.
The suspect who shot Cam probably won't go to jail. The case has stalled due to Cam's lack of cooperation. D-C authorities can't track him down, and now they're trying to find ways to force his assistance. Cam is serving five years' probation for a gun conviction in New York so they may subpoena him. Juelz Santana tells the Washington Post, "Cam isn't going to do it. It's not in our nature. He isn't going to stand up and point out a guy in a witness line and say, 'That is the dude who shot me.' We all came from the street."
The money laundering trial of The Inc. hasn't even entered its third day yet, and 50 Cent has already become involved. The defense is arguing that Fif has nothing to do with the trial, but prosecutors asked the judge to allow witnesses to be questioned on 50's June 2000 shooting. They claim the hit was orchestrated by Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff as a return favor for Irv laundering Supreme's drug money through The Inc. The Judge allowed the line of questioning, which could eventually lead to 50 being subpoenaed to testify. The trial continues today.
Nelly is putting his money where his mouth is. He and Jermaine Dupree –Nelly says they left a strip club feeling guilty after spending more than $10,000 in a single night. So they thought: "How 'bout we go to the toy store and break the kids off, [it's] almost Christmas time." The next day the two matched the amount they'd spent at the flesh palace in toys, and delivered the gifts to needy tots
50 CENT won Best Original Song for " maybe we crazy" (it's from his new game bulletproof) at the 2005 Video Games Awards over the weekend. He performed the song on the show and this must have been awkward because it was hosted by SAMUEL L. JACKSON who turned down a role in "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'." The show airs December 10th on Spike TV
Thanks to a picture posted at [ SocialiteLife.com], Johnny Gill finds himself having to deny rumors that he's in a gay relationship with Eddie Murphy. The photo simply depicts the New Edition singer and the newly divorced Murphy walking side-by-side, but a number of Internet sites have run with the story, saying they're coming out of a "gay restaurant." Gill tells Black-Voices-dot com, "I am 100-percent all man. There is nothing another man can do for Johnny Gill. As long as you're secure and know who you are, you can't worry about what other people say." Rumor has it that Eddie is dating a certain entertainment reporter.
Run-DMCis done w/Adidas after 20 years. Now he's promoting Le Coq Sportif.
There's good reason the musical chemistry between Anthony Hamilton and Tarche McMillan seems particularly strong. Hamilton reveals that he and McMillan -- who appears on the track "Preacher's Daughter" from his upcoming disc Ain't Nobody Worryin' -- got married a couple of months ago. He tells us, "It's time to grow up. Life is too short. You got a lot of things going on out there, natural catastrophes. It ain't nothin' but God talkin', so it's time to get it right." But he insists there are no special favors going on here. "She can sing. I ain't just put her on there 'cause [she's my wife]. She's a beast. She better be or I'd take her off the record!" The two recently bought a house in Hamilton's hometown of Charlotte , North Carolina.
Hamilton's new single is "Can't Let Go." Ain't Nobody Worryin' is due December 13th.
Robert Blake, who was acquitted of killing his wife Bonny Lee Bakley back in March, was found liable for her wrongful death in a civil suit on Friday -- and was ordered to pay 30-million dollars in damages to her family. Whereas the criminal trial required a unanimous jury verdict, the civil trial needed only nine of 12 jurors voting "guilty." The former "Baretta" was found guilty by a margin of 10-to-two. If all this sounds familiar, it's the same road O-J Simpson went down.
CHRISTINA AGUILERA married her longtime boyfriend, music executive JORDAN BRATMAN, Saturday in a ceremony attended by 130 She's 24, he's 28, and this is the first marriage for both of them. They met in 2002 and were engaged last February.Christina has been recording a new album which she plans to release in the spring.

The Gotti brothers my be up the creek
NEW YORK — What does the attempted murder of 50 Cent have to do with the allegations of money laundering brothers-in-business Irv and Christopher Gotti are being tried for? It's a question defense attorney Gerald Shargel wanted answered. Dozens of supporters and journalists packed into Judge Edward Korman's courtroom in Brooklyn federal court — Ja Rule, who appeared last week, was a no-show, but, bizarrely, the recently bat mitzvahed Amber Ridinger (see "Ja Rule, Ashanti Torah The Roof Off At Girl's Bat Mitzvah") and her parents were there. And they got an earful of 50 from government witness Jon Ragin.
The Gotti brothers, whose real names are Irving and Christopher Lorenzo, were the subject of a years-long federal investigation that concluded earlier this year with their arrests on money-laundering charges (see "Irv Gotti Pleads Not Guilty, Released On $1 Million Bond"). On Wednesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean Haran accused them of running a covert money-laundering operation via hip-hop label the Inc., and prosecutors contended that the brothers routinely accepted cash from convicted crack dealer Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff's drug-dealing enterprises and then cleaned the illegal profits through film and music projects (see "Prosecutor Alleges Drug Ties To The Inc. In Gotti Trial Opening").
Ragin, a self-admitted pimp, is testifying as part of a plea deal he orchestrated with the federal government in exchange for leniency at the time of his sentencing on money-laundering and credit card fraud charges. He's pleaded guilty to both charges and, according to the prosecution, bilked banks, credit card companies and retail stores out of more than $1 million. During a round of questioning that occurred without the jury present, Ragin, a friend and former business associate of McGriff's, told the court he'd had several conversations with McGriff about 50 Cent.
Ragin said the conversations initially revolved around 50 being a problem — a nuisance who, before his 2000 shooting, made a habit of disrespecting the Inc.'s biggest name, Ja Rule, on mixtapes. McGriff had told Ragin he'd had several meetings with 50 and told the rising rap star to stop targeting Ja and the Inc. in his rhymes. Several verbal agreements were made between the two, but 50 never held up his end of the bargain, Ragin recalled.
On May 24, 2000, Ragin — who's in the Federal Witness Protection Program for reasons not related to the Gotti trial — said he received a call from McGriff, who said he had "hurt 50." McGriff wanted to speak with Ragin, and a meeting was set up in a Brooklyn garage. Ragin told the court McGriff sounded "rushed" on the phone, and when he asked him "what was up," McGriff told him, "We got him" — a reference to 50 Cent, Ragin later learned.
"He described how he caught him coming out of his grandma's house," said Ragin; 50 got in a car, "and they shot him many times at close range. They thought he was dead, because there was lots of blood."
Ragin said McGriff wasn't the gunman, but that one of his two underlings, who had ties to the Inc., was. The witness recalled seeing them in the garage during the meeting, scrubbing their hands with rubbing alcohol to remove any traces of gun powder. Ragin then said that, years later, the attempted murder of 50 Cent would serve as fodder for jokes around the Inc. offices.
"They'd joke about the way 50 was squirming [in pain] in his car and putting up his hands to stop the bullets" that kept coming, one after the other, he explained. The year before 50's shooting, his track "How To Rob ..." was a huge radio hit; the song was to appear on 50's Power of the Dollar, an album he recorded for Columbia that has never been released. The shooting occurred two months after 50 was stabbed at New York's Hit Factory recording studio — also something the prosecution tried to show, via text messages they claim were exchanged between Irv Gotti and McGriff, was Inc.-related.
One message, which the prosecution said was authored by Irv, said "F--- half a dollar. Me and my n----s kill for fun. Got that? Murder for fun." Another exchange, sent soon after the 50 shooting, claimed the label heads got 50 twice, with the stabbing and then the shooting. Yet another followed just hours later; Irv Gotti, according to the prosecution, text messaged someone to "turn on the radio" to listen to the news of 50's shooting.
"Why wouldn't anybody in the hip-hop world be interested in 50 Cent being shot?" asked Shargel, who said 50's shooting has nothing to do with the trial. Bringing the issue up before the jury, he surmised, "could be outcome determinative. 50 Cent is at the height of his popularity. This is an explosive issue. The jurors will know 50 Cent," and hence, might be prejudiced against the Gottis when determining their verdict. Korman refused to allow jurors to hear such testimony. For his part, 50 Cent has long maintained that a man named Darryl "Hommo" Baum was the gunman; Baum was killed three weeks after the 50 shooting.
Haran had argued that testimony about the shooting would help prove motive in the money-laundering case.
Ragin also discussed his business dealings with McGriff. The two produced a straight-to-DVD 2001 film called "Crime Partners," starring Ice-T and Snoop; the Inc. and Ruff Ryders helped finance the film, and Irv Gotti orchestrated a $1 million distribution deal with Island/ Def Jam for the soundtrack. The rest of the film was largely funded by McGriff, who once paid crew members and some of the actors with cash — all small bills, Ragin explained.
Before the courtroom action took a turn toward 50, the prosecution welcomed New York Detective Anthony Castiglia, who tried to counter the cross-examination damage left last week in Shargel's wake. The defense attorney referenced the grand jury testimony of Thursday's witness Donnell Nichols, a former Murder Inc. intern, who had said he once saw $70,000 in small bills delivered to the Gottis' offices in a shoebox; Shargel then produced a shoebox with 7,000 fake bills. He asked the witness to fit them into the shoebox, but Nichols couldn't.
On Monday Castiglia said he carried out an experiment over the weekend to determine if $70,000 in cash could fit in a shoebox. He had more success, cramming $74,000 into an Adidas box. Castiglia used $1 bills, with $2,400 from his own account and the rest on loan from the Federal Reserve. Shargel was quick to point out that no one has testified just how big the alleged shoeboxes, filled with money, were. "We're all guessing," he said.

YAY! Rush Hour 3
This movie better be worth the wait!
Rush Hour 3" Ready to Roll. Finally By Josh Grossberg
1 hour, 49 minutes ago
Rush Hour 3 is finally on the fast track.
After more than two years of idling in development hell--largely due to Chris Tucker not being in any rush to get back to work, not even for an eight-figure payday--New Line Cinema has locked up all the principals and is slated to begin production next year for a 2007 summer release.
The studio had originally hoped to begin work on the sequel in 2003, but Tucker, despite being offered $20 million, demanded script approval. In the meantime, the other key players--costar Jackie Chan, director Brett Ratner and screenwriter Jeff Nathanson--began to fill up their calendars with other gigs.
Now, per Variety, all four have signed on to make the third installment in the action-comedy franchise about two mismatched cops--one from Los Angeles (Tucker), the other from Hong Kong (Chan)--who team up to battle baddies.
As first reported in New Yorker last April, Tucker will still receive $20 million upfront, and he'll get 20 percent of the back-end gross; those terms will also extend to a future film to be determined. In exchange, the comedian has agreed to forego script approval, as long as the script closely mirrors Nathanson's pitch.

Patti Jackson's Celeb News 11.22.05
And the Dreamgirls role of "Effie" goes to…. Jennifer Hudson! Say What! The role of "Effie" in the movie version of Dreamgirls has finally been cast. Jennifer Hudson was an American Idol contestant during season number three. She lost out to Fantasia, but she was a fan favorite. Jennifer now has the role of a lifetime, and she has started rehearsals. Dreamgirls, the movie, arrives in theatres December 2006. Filming starts in January. The movie will star Beyonce, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Danny Glover and Omarion. American Idol Winner Fantasia was up for the role, and she even had a couple of Oscar winners (Denzel Washington & Jamie Foxx) in her corner. But, in the end, producers decided that Jennifer Hudson was the perfect person for the role made famous by Jennifer Holliday. I thought Fantasia had a lock on this part. Was the controversy over her reading a factor? First, she said she couldn't read. Then, she said she could read, but that she just wasn't a good reader. Did this admission hurt her chances for the role?
K-Fed is acting up again. K-Fed (Kevin Federline) is the husband of Pop Star Britney Spears, and he's the baby daddy to Actress Shar Jackson. Shar is best known as "Neicy" from the Moesha show, and she has two kids by Federline. Britney just had a son by K-Fed, and she's upset that he spends a lot of time with his baby momma, Shar. Federline dumped Shar when she was seven months pregnant with their second child. Shar is writing a book, and she's claiming that she and Federline were still fooling around after he married Britney. Is Federline having his cake and eating it too? Is he still messing around with his baby momma? Did Britney make a big mistake by marrying a man who doesn't work and sponges off of her?
Don't look for Mary J. Blige on the cover of any future issues of Vibe magazine. Mary is on the latest cover, and she blasted them for the awful cover. It looks bad. I was surprised that Vibe would allow this cover to run. It's not flattering at all. Mary says she was disgusted by the cover. Vibe has responded, and they claim they meant no harm. They feel Mary should talk to her hairstylist. Mary has appeared on the cover of Vibe seven times.
Actor Page Kennedy says he's no flasher. Kennedy was fired from the hit ABC show Desperate Housewives for improper conduct. Sources say he was exposing himself to women on the set. Kennedy played the character "Caleb," the mystery guy who was locked in the basement by Alfre Woodard. Kennedy says he did nothing improper. He says producers wanted to recast the role because they wanted the story to go in another direction.
Bernie Mac and his production company, MC Banner Productions, are developing a new sitcom for the FOX network. It's slated to be a black version of All In The Family. Back in the 70's, Actor Carroll O'Connor made "Archie Bunker" a household name. This show led to the spin-offs of Maude & The Jeffersons. Good Times was a spin-off of Maude. Bernie will not star, just produce the updated show.
Shaquille O'Neal is teaming up with Payless Shoes for his signature line, Dunkman's Athletic Shoe. The Miami Heat center signed a five year deal.
There will be a Rush Hour III with Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan and Brett Ratner directing. A deal was just signed.
At the movies this week, it's Usher with In The Mix, and Rosario Dawson, Jesse L. Martin and Taye Diggs star in the movie musical Rent. It's based on the Broadway show.
The 48th Annual Grammy Awards air on February 8th live from Los Angeles on CBS.
Actor Terrence Howard is featured in the latest issue of People magazine as one of the sexiest guys around. Howard says there will be a sequel to his hit movie Hustle & Flow. He says the movie will follow "D-Jay" as he goes from pimp to Hip Hop Star.
Is Christina Milian dating Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx? The two were spotted kissing and cuddling. What happened to Nick Cannon? She was supposed to be dating him.
Actress Dawnn Lewis is making headlines with her marital problems. Lewis is best known for her role as "Jaleesa" on the TV show A Different World. She's married to former NBA Player Johnny Newman, and she recently had him arrested for assaulting her. She has an order of protection against him.
A nephew of Rosa Parks is contesting her will. When the Civil Rights Icon died, she left everything she had to a retired judge and her longtime caregiver. Parks had no children. The nephew, her brother's son, feels he is being left out, and a hearing is taking place in early January.
Vivica A. Fox is proud to announcer her new magazine Jolie. Fox is the Editor at Large of the publication, which is a new women's lifestyles magazine. The magazine is due out on the 29th, and Fox is on the cover. The magazine is being touted as the ultimate beauty guide for women of color.
Look for all six members of New Edition in 2006? Yes, Ralph, Ricky, Ronnie, Michael, Johnny and Bobby Brown! An album and tour is in the works.
UTFO is getting back together. Back in the 80's, they had the hit "Roxanne, Roxanne." The group consisted of the Kangol Kid, MixMaster Ice, Doctor Ice and the Educated Rapper.
The Billboard Music Awards air on FOX December 6th. Kanye West is getting the Artist Achievement Award. R. Kelly is scheduled to perform.
Actor Blair Underwood has a new children's book out called Before I Got Here: The Wondrous Things We Hear When We Listen To The Souls Of Our Children. The book is about children in their own words, and proceeds will benefit Underwood's organization for children with AIDS in Africa.
Despite her wacky appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Author Terry McMillan is vowing to go on with her life. McMillan and her ex-husband, Jonathan Plummer, shocked everyone with their marital split and the announcement he was gay. They recently appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show together, and Terry's behavior was a riot. I couldn't stop laughing at the eyes rolling, head rolling around and weird facial expressions. Terry says she won't end up in a rocking chair by herself.
Nicole Richie will be starring in the new ad campaign for Jimmy Choo Shoes.
Talk Show Host Tyra Banks has found true love. After years of the dating go round with Basketball's Chris Webber and Director John Singleton, Tyra has found her love match with an Italian entrepreneur. 33 year-old Giancarlo Marcaccini is a former basketball star, and he currently runs an ice cream business.

It's Official: Jessica Simpson And Nick Lachey Split
11.23.2005 11:27 PM EST
Couple released joint statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday.
Apparently the honeymoon is over.
After a highly publicized romance, a reality-series marriage and eventually tabloid rumors of strife, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey officially announced their split on Wednesday to Us Weekly
magazine.
"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," the couple said in a joint statement released to the magazine. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."
Rumors about tension between the two had grown louder and louder in recent months. Us Weekly even reported that the couple had quietly split just over one month ago. Officially, however, spokespeople for the two flatly denied a split was in the cards.
Simpson and Lachey were married in fall 2002. Their starry-eyed love and down-home personas (she the bumbling but lovable blonde, he the Rust-Belt everyman looking for ways to keep her spending in check) made the reality show chronicling their first days of marriage, "Newlyweds," a breakout hit for MTV. Simpson was able to parlay that success into renewed interest in her music career, and also into a now-budding stint in Hollywood.

This saddens me.

Though I hate to see marriages end, something about them just didn't seem right to me. They were cute and all, but sometimes on the Newlyweds, Nick seemed just as annoyed with Jessica as I was. She got on my nerves for a half hour. I can only imagine being with her 24/7.
Jessica might let loose now! She no longer that quiet little virgin that she was when she got with Nick. It might be on and poppin' now! Look out, Hollywood!

Yet another reason why we "regular folk" shouldn't look up to stars as having and knowing it all. You would think with all that money, good looks, etc they would be able to have a happy marriage, or at least one that lasts longer than 3 years. Hey Redefined maybe your should consider Family Law.

I was thinking the same thing. I also wondered did the disparity in their careers affect them negatively. She was clearly the star in the relationship.

I too had hoped that they would stay together, not only b/c they seemed like a good couple, but because they talked so much about being together forever and her putting her virginity out there so much... To me though this is just more proof that people should keep their personal lives as private as possible. Because if things do turn sour nobody can go back to things that you have said or done in the past. It just helps people to mind their business a bit more.

Young love can be so hard
I heard that they had separated, but I just couldn't accept it. Now that I've seen it here I guess the rumors are true. This is truly a difficult situation, especially on a private level as they enter the holidays and on a public level since their every action is watched.

I think that having their first year so publicized like that put a strain on them, especially Nick, since his album didnt do anything and Jessica's did ok. I was pulling for them though.

Am I the only one who feels that Papa Simpson was way too involved in Jessica and Nick's marriage. He's an ex minister so he should know better. Like someone mentioned earlier I do think it's gonna be "on and poppin" now for both of them.
