Name That Tune

They started this in Chit Chat, but I guess it was not very popular.

Rules:

1. Post at least 3 lines to a song. . .hopefully you know the correct lyrics.

2. The next poster has to guess at least the TITLE of the song.

3. Then said poster has to post new lyrics to a song for someone else to guess.

Get it?
Got it?
GOOD!!

Imma start you all off a little easy:

Rainbow
Let me know the storm has past.
These memories
Will last and last.
Passion
Curling through the core of the night.
Where have you been
All my life.

Jay-Z "Can't knock the hustle" (off of his best album BTW)

Genre: Rra and B

And now I find myself
Taken over by the feeling
And I know within my heart
It's too late to say goodbye now
There's a place in me
That belongs to you, baby
So relax and be mine

Love's takin Over by Chante Moore

Genre: old school r&b

I'm been so many places
seen so many things
but none quite as lovely as you
more beautiful than the Mona Lisa
worth more than gold
and my eyes have pleasure to behold

Song for You by Donny Hathaway

R&B
The day you held me in your arms
I still smell da scent of you
On my dress unbelievable
And you was so masculine
The way I felt your chest up next to mine
I felt you in my heart
Now I breathe love
You are so amazing
Unbelievable baby
It's you that make me smile
When everything gets crazy

...Bill Clinton and the Oval Office jam?

I know I'm wrong for that.

Latest, Greatest Inspiration - Teddy Pendergrass (my husband and I danced our first dance to that song )

Genre: old school rap
Hey sport, here's a thought from the old school crew
A serious situation we all go through
It deals with your feelings, so hear what I say
It's like a day, but nothing seems to go your way
Bust this, two people, they really like each other
He says there's no one else
And she claims there is no other
The feelings are same, and you receive a notion
To reveal your inner thoughts and deeply hidden emotions

Slick Rick...A Teenage Love

Here's one...old school rap

Must I say it again, I said it before
Move out the way when I'm comin' through the door
Me, heavy? Light as a rock
Guys watch, even some of the girls clock.

slight hijack but it's sorta on point

There is this great kids/rap song that I hear on the radio and my daughters love it and I want to get it for them. It's got an AfAm history theme to it, how civilization started in Africa, we're Kings/Queens, etc..

the hook says:

I know I can
(chorus: I know I can)
Be what I wanna be
(chorus: be what I wanna be)

If I work hard at it, I can do anything...

if anybody knows the artist, album title, I'd apprecate it.

**end of hijack**
