Yeah, just going to make a new thread This will be kinda like RUSH for puppies, hehe

I went to the pound this morning to check out Hillary, she was too big for me

However, there was another puppy there....here's Scrappy:

There's a long adoption process w/this little guy and my fiance and I are going to head up North and check out the PetsMart adoption weekend! So, who knows!

He is so cute!

Thank you for choosing to adopt a homeless animal rather than buying?

Have you checked out www.petfinder.com? They have search on there where you can enter dogs age, size, etc. and then the ones needing adoption that match that description will come up.

If you don't want to raise a puppy but still want a dog, you might think about getting an older one from the shelter. I'm not talking old old, but like 2 or 3 years old. The dog would still be young, but past the excitable chewy puppy stage. One of my mom's friends adopted a golden retriever that was about 3 years old, I think, and that dog has been absolutely wonderful. Older animals often have a harder time being adopted out, too, so you'd also be doing a good thing.

That's how I found him

Dana--- Heh, the reason I'm going for a puppy is because every dog I've had has been a rescued dog that's been older I want a puppy for once!

An update....

I called Dusty -right- after I left the pound and BEGGED him to buy me Scrappy (he's $125)...he's about to break I believe

He had checked the classifieds for free-to sorta free pups (you know, the kind where people only charge you for their shots and etc) and we're going to go look at some mixed-pups here Sunday...

And yes, Scrappy has moved onto the preference round

He's a beagle pup right?

If so, I would have given him a bid right on the spot.

Hope he finds his home soon.

I love Beagles!!!

But he sorta looks like a Dachshund/Beagle mix - ya know? He's got that long head.

Anyway, I hope he gets a good bid from a good house!! He is too cute!

Yea Scrappy!

I snap bid a cute little puppy last week that was running around the downtown area & dodging cars/eating garbage...no collar, and no residential neighborhoods for some distance.... We think she's a smooth fox terrier, and she is smart as a whip (not house broken yet, but seems to be catching on quickly...thank goodness for tile floors!). We're waiting a little while b/f calling her our own b/c we are making sure her true owners don't claim her (local paper lets us put an ad in for free & we put a card up @ Petsmart).

And our cat? She isn't completely opposed, so I think the puppy might be a keeper. We're calling her Maggie for now (although my daughter wants to call her "Cow" b/c she's black & white and looks like a dairy cow).

Exclamation An update...

Scrappy almost made it, but couldn't pay his dues

However, Dusty now has a doggie TKE legacy....

His name is Logan (rather when we got him and his name was "Puppy 3") and is a tri-color Beagle I'll post a picture soon!! He's just been newly weaned and now living w/us
