Updated Website Results

Ok- so we are all excited about recruitment, but since things are still slow at the moment I figured we need something else to get excited about. So I dedicate this thread to the coming of the updated Alpha Delta Pi website!! If someone would check daily and on this thread keep us updated as to the days news (updated or not)! It does not have to be the same person daily, just whoever gets to it first! Then in the end when it is finaly updated we will all know right away! I know it sounds silly, but it will be fun to check daily to see if the site is complete!!

As of right now, 11:37am MST, it is the same old website. GRRRRRRRRRR. I think I am one of the most impatient sisters here. LOL.

Same 'ol site still

I didn't know there was a revamping of the website. But it sure needs it. I see other national's websites and they are awesome. Did you all see the new stuff in the Gift Mart?? I've seen some of the items at other website (like the magnets) but they have stickers (with and adorable azure blue alphie). I hope they come out with more ADPi specific jewelry, and not just engraved things. One thing Alpha Phi has is a crest pendant made up of all colored enamel. Looks pretty cool.

I thought the finished product date had been bumped back another three months?
This is going to be one long thread.
Still the same as of August 12th, 5:38 a.m., GMT+1 (Germany time)

I really hope that is not true. New members are going to use the new site to do self study during their alpha period.

Chapter were told not to do any contingency planning in case the site was not ready by the time new members arrive. This makes me very uncomfortable. As the new system would be great to talk about during recruitment.

Some chapters have already begun recruitment parties this week - so new members will be looking for the site by early next week. Hope it is ready!

Does anyone know what kind of content will be on the new website?

I remember looking at the old one a few years ago before I transferred and it had fun stuff like our symbols, colors, terminology.

When I was in LA, I got to see a demo for beta testing of the new site. I like the new features of the members-only section. Much more user friendly. The navigation was very good throughout.

Overall, the layout and design was extremely dated and this was my chief complaint. So beta content=great. Beta design= poor and an attempt to mimic paper publications. You can't do that with web and have a strong design.

I know the idea is to integrate non-computer users, but the web site needs to be graphically appealing to PNM's. First impressions count.

These are just perspectives from my experience working in marketing and advertising. It is constructive criticism and not in any way bashing the efforts of those who have worked on the tech committee.
