Question Questions for SORORS/GREEKS ONLY!!!!!!!

Hello Sorors, and my fellow greeks, I wanted to pose a question concerning greeks wearing other greek's paraphernalia. If you were a model, or was an extra on a sitcom, or TV show, and the director told you that you had to wear another organization shirt (ex. you're a Delta but have to wear a Zeta, or an AKA shirt), just for that epsiode,or photo shoot and they paid you madd loot (Money) would you do it?

I am just curious!!!

Hmmmm. I'd have to fight the power. If I had to portray another greek, I'd approach it diplomatically and tell them to please just allow me to have the paraphenalia around the room (i.e. a cup on a table or a picture on a wall). I'd explain how it would be in the shows best interest to avoid heat/ complaints from organizations, etc. I would not wear another organization's para. I wouldn't even want to drink from the cup, or hold the pen...

But you better believe I'd be fighting for them to change the role to AKA so that I could wear my para!!!

Remember that episode of "Sister Sister" when one of the twins were intersted in becoming greek? I don't know if Jackie (sp?) Harry is your soror or not, but she was pushing DST on the show. Does anyone remember if she ever wore para or if they simply had the para "around"???

In that episode both twins were being introduced to Greekdom, one AKA and the other DST. Ray's mom was an AKA and would send stuff. Lisa's friend played by Vesta was a Delta neither wore para but instead had DST items in the kitchen.

However, Tim Reid DID have on APhiA 'nalia, but he may not be Greek at all. This was debated in another thread.

Question

It all depends on the money!! I would probably have to grin and bare it, if the figures were right. But, then again, I would probably be upset if I saw someone ( actress or not)wearing my letters. So, I guess, honestly, I would have to be in that situation. Good Question, something to think about!!

YES, I would! If I'm persuing an acting career, and a role offered meant wearing letters other then my own, I would do it.

in the words of my older prophyte....Delta's look good in any color.

it's all in your heart. a true actress would go that extra mile in doing what she has to do as long as it doesn't belittle her.

now if putting on some one else letters belittles her then....

Being a PR major, I have a great answer to this question.

I would wear the other orgs nalia. However, during the credits, I would have the show write something like the following:

Chickenlittle is a devoted and active member of DST. She portrayed the role of a member of ZPhiB solely for the purposes of this film and in the name of true greek love. Blah, Blah, Blah

And also, I would get written permission from the orgs national headquarters to ensure that there are no legal ramifications of this part.

No problems, no conflicts of interest and I get my money. But, without these things being done, no I would not do it. My credibility as an actress and a member of DST would be on the line. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY IS WORTH YOUR CREDIBILITY. Always remember that.

By playing the part, it will show my versatility as an actress also.

I'm smart. I know it. I have the GPA to show it.

First off, I would try to convince them that the story would work with me wearing my own perry, especially if I'm just an extra or something (and plus I'll save them costuming money ) But I really would have to think hard for that one, and it is something I have never thought about before. I would not want to disrespect the other organization more than anyhting, say especially if the org they want me to portray is being portrayed in a negative light, I would feel like maybe this isn't so right for me to play it then.....but then again I am a broke college student and if the price is right ....lol
