Hahahaha, that's FANTASTIC. Now this is two botched coaching searches in a row. Unless Knute Rockne rises from the dead and learns the forward pass, The Fighting Irish have screwed themselves again.

It really shows you how much the prestige of ND has gone down. Why would you want to be accountable to that kind of fanbase? They expect you to be able to compete on an uneven playing field and then win. They don't support the program the way they should (note the lack of modern facilities) and their schedule is ridiculous.

I have a feeling they're going to pull a Nebraska and hire an idiot like Callahan (although, I'm not 100% sure that there's anyone out there quite as bad as Callahan).

Meyer didn't go to ND because he was afraid to face USC every year.

HA HA HA! I AM KIDDING!

It is surprising though. He has that ND out clause in his contract w Utah--or is that a rumor only?

I heard that on ESPN, so I would *think* it's the truth (but then again, you can't always believe what you hear on TV, right??? )

Yea for UF!!! I think Meyer will do a great job based on his success with Utah. It's about time to have a REAL coach!!!

He did have an out clause for ND....but he also had one for a couple of other schools. I know Ohio State was one, possibly Florida was another?

Michigan was another one since there was a rumor going around that Carr could retire at the end of this year and Meyer could take over.

There was a rumor going around down here that Les Miles (coaches at The Fake OSU) was set to replace Carr upon his retirement. Michigan actually held a press conference to shoot that rumor down.
