E*Bay Email

I got this email today from ebay saying that I need to update my credit card information and had a website to go to to do this.

Anyone else get this? I'm thinking it's not legit but if it is I don't wana mess up my account.

From billing@ebay-email.com

Dear valued eBay Member,

It has come to our attention that your credit card informations are out of order. If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your personal records so you will not run into any future problems with the online service.

To update your eBay records please Click here :
http://securesupprt.net/ebay/sign_in.htm

However, any failure in updating your records will result an account suspension. Please update your records before the 23nd of Septembert, 2004 . Once you have updated your credit card records your eBay session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future problems.

Thank you for your time!

Marry Kimmel,
eBay Billing Department team.

Definitely a fake...

The KEY give away is in NO place does it send you to an ebay domain. ebay-mail.com (owned by some geek in Australia) and securesupprt.net (somebody in Arthur, IL) try to look legit, but they are not.

On top of it, ebay does not send out email list this. IF there is a problem with your ebay account in anyway, when you signin on the ebay website, you will get a message then AND ONLY then.

Sounds like phishing to me.

(phishing is directing people to a website where they will give personal information thinking it is legit)

This sounds like something a Democrat would do. UGH!!! Why do Democrats want to steal people's personal information and money?

Forward the email (without changing anything, not even the header) to spoof@ebay.com. I do this with every fake looking email I receive from Ebay. That way, Ebay can keep a record of the fake emails floating around. Someone will usually email you back within a few minutes to let you know if it is legit or not. Also, you can always check the Ebay Security Center to double-check on anything that might look funky.

Because they need money to support their hippy-protest lifestyle.

They get the rest of their money by abusing the welfare system.
