A general rule of thumb that we always were told in our rush workshops back in the day was do not come on too strong. It sounds fake and phony when you are like "You should definately pledge D*Phi*E. We are the BEST sorority" (for example). Let the girls make their own decisions. Also do lots of informal stuff like just hanging out with the girls. I remember lots of my sisters after they became new members said it was really overwhelming during rush when like 5 sisters surrounded them and were like "oh look at these picture albums" or "oh i gotta show you our rooms". Usually having one member talk to them at a time will be less overwhelming and will not make their head spin as much LOL. Good luck!!!!
We just started rushing this week and i am really really nervous!! I myself am rushing about 9 girls (the most i have ever approached!!)
Does anyone else get nervous about rushing?? LIke you dont know what to do or how to do it?
In Canada the concept of a sorority is really not as conventional as in the United States..like its very rare to have them and its not as "normal" so its harder for us to rush because we get such a negative backlash..
