Your Non-Traveling Summer Plans

Does anyone else have any? We hope to get to the beach in July but until then:

When we moved into this house years ago, my family was on spring break and I wasn't so they just scooped stuff out of the old house and dumped a lot of it into the attic. We are attacking the attic! We've already taken 10 bags to the Salvation Army. I am so happy about this!

Unfortunately, we're being forced to renovate one of our bathrooms before we were ready. So, part of the summer will be spent getting that organized.

Otherwise, I'm taking two classes, working my full time law clerk job, and participating in recruitment for a summer job for next year. Fun stuff.

Trying to build a shed so we can clean out the house and remodel it. I'm also looking into taking a couple of summer classes online.

I'll be getting more involved in my church, getting some new furniture, and going to about 5 weddings.

I'm chairing a convention in August, and it seems that all of my spare time is devoted to each facet. After that, I hope to take a nice, long vacation: work on my house, get my car ready to trade in, and take the photos my insurance agent has been wanting for the past few years!

Studying for the Architectural Registration Exam...there are 9 sections, I've taken and passed one...and I'll be taking one every six weeks for the next year.

Hopefully, I'll make it out to the beach. There are fundraisers and silent auctions to help plan, and hopefully I'll catch some polo matches and rugby games.

Every few years, I take a vacation in my city where I do the whole 'tourist-y' thing - stay in a hotel, take tours, etc.

It's actually fun and I always learn something new.

we have a kids soccer tournament, Vacation Bible School, lots of doctors appointments and two kids birthdays this summer. Every weekend this summer already seems to have an activity booked into it.

Oh and our traveling vacation plans are to fly to my brother's house in California and stay for a week. 6 hours in a plane with three kids. Not looking forward to that part of it.

That's not a bad idea. I've lived in D/FW for about 6 years, and there are still some places that I haven't visited.

I might have to try this

I usually take my vacation at the end of June, but due to my former supervisor's sudden departure, I was forced to take it in April.

I'll be acting Executive Director until September when they hope to find her replacement...which means no summer vacation for me. I'll try to sneak in a Big Island/Maui/Kauai weekend here and there, but that's about it.
