Thumbs up Love & Basketball

GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!

More than ONCE!!

I am so proud that a sista wrote and directed this beautiful modern-day fairytale. She made Spike's misogynist production company look halfway decent.

I loved this movie, and I don't say that about a lot of flicks, y'all! I laughed, I cried, I sang out loud. My friend has seen it 7 TIMES!!! I will be buying it when it comes out.

Support a sistagirl, support GOOD, QUALITY (even the snobs at Sundance gave the director, Gina Prince-Bythewood and Sanaa Lathan, the star, a lengthy standing o) PIECE OF ART. :

SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Sal

Cool

I loved Loved Loved Loved LOVED this movie. It was real on all fronts, it covered so many areas: LOVE, FIRST LOVE, falling in and out of love, basketball, making dreams come true, relationships with parents.

I will also be buying this movie and the soundtrack!!!

Thumbs up

I just had to co-sign on this one. "Love and Basketball" was so good, that even after seeing this movie for FREE, I went again just to give up some money! I already knew it was gonna be good, but my moind was blown. The soundtrack is GREAT, the movie is awesome, the characters and actors are superb. It gets no better than this right here. Props to Miss Gina for portraying the African-American community in such a positive and REAL manner. I'm sure everyone had at least one deja vu experience while watching this movie...I know I did.

P.S. Great job by my WNBA future hooper Kyla Pratt (young Monica), she's fam y'all!

Okay, I'm going to be the devil's advocate. I haven't seen the movie, but I don't like love stories. I know, I know... I hear it all the time: "How can I not like love stories?" Well, I don't know why, I just don't like them. But my friends keep telling me that this is a 'must-see' movie, even if I don't like love stories. I think I may have to break down and see it.

Oh yall done got me started. That is my movie!!! I loved that movie.

Kissy324, don't be fooled by the title. There is a whole lot more to the movie than love (basketball).

No really though. It has all the elements of a good movie. And it was a very positive portrayal of the black woman. This movie has made me want to hit the courts again. I think I will Hope more people will go out and support our positive black films, film makers, and actors.

p.s. Those of you who plan on buying the sound track wont be dissappointed (sp?)

Cool

But WHY have I been blasting the soundtrack everyday since I bought it??? At home, in the car, at school, in the gym...

This, and the movie, give me hope for love again.

I MUST agree, that is a wonderful movie. I will have it the day that it comes out. I feel about this movie the way that i did The BestMan, although I know a lot of people that don't like it. I didn't even know that a Black lady was behind it, but now i might just pay to see it again for the 5th time.

Man, some of you have seen it at least 5 times and I haven't even seen it once???
I guess I WILL go see it. We were talking about the movie (again) at work and they were saying how great it is. I'm sure it will be worth my time.

kissy324, you aren't the only one who hasn't seen the movie, yet . Since it is now here at the base for free, we will be going as soon as we can. I will let you all know how I feel about it after that. For those of you who have the soundtrack, who are some of the artists?

Love and Basketball is the BOMB,not to mention Omar Epps. He is sooo.. fine.I've seen him in a number of movies, but he really caught my eye this time. The movie brouth back a lot of high school memories. My ex-byfriend and I both played basketball and we experienced some of the same things in the movie. Sanaa is really geeting a big break in the movie business, she has been playing in a lot of movies lately. Move over Nia Long!
