The Drama is almost over

I say this b/c thanks to the tons of spamming & complaints that were received, the main moderator of a livejournal account was banned from the site.

For those of you who don't know, at livejournal.com there was a newly formed community that called themselves tri_delta. They were basically high school girls who wanted to call themselves a sorority & used your name b/c they apparently like it. Their idea of being a tri_delta was to rate you & decide to accept you or not based on your looks, $$$, & all that kind of immaterial crap. Anyway, the moderator refused to change their name even though they were told that there was a real national sorority called Tri-Delta but they didn't care. It wasn't until your NHQ was contacted & they promised to look into this that the main moderator was banned. Those here on GC who have livejournal accounts are hoping that the entire forum will come down or that the girls will at least change their name. It's pretty sad that it came down to this but there were many GC users that were rightfully offended when they saw the things these fake "tri_delta's" were posting.

Now I have read many posts before on LJ where people say to leave the high school girls alone but I do feel that if they had at least considered the name change when it was pointed out that they were infringing on a copyrighted name, everything would have been fine. Instead, it's now down to this.

Sorry to impose on your forum, but at least you know what they look like in case they try to rush when they hit college.

Here comes the fun police.

I'll admit that I'm going to be nitpicky here, but how do you know her account was suspended as a result of the Tri_Delta community? Has anyone received confirmation from LJ Abuse or Tri-Delta's (the real one) HQ?

I don't agree with the community and I totally agree with the fact that they're wrongfully parading around with this name and the community should be forced to change its name.

Still, maybe it's because I miss the lively discussions going on in the community that DIDN'T deal with the Tri-Delta brouhaha. If you haven't already noticed, there are 92034283468759 threads regarding the drama in the SG and GL communities, as well as in the real Delta Delta Delta community (thankfully DDD & SG are run by Pilar).

I'd hate to see just as many fake Tri_Delta threads here too. HQ has been contacted, LJ Abuse has been contacted...instead of going back and forth saying the same things over again I say just let the two sides do their jobs. Because really, that's all we can do.

The kids joining this fake community are obviously immature and shallow. But while it does sound mean, seeing the amount of stuff posted on the OTHER side just goes to show that sorority girls do love drama (just as long as they're not involved, of course). But that's just what I think.

Rock on, Tri-Deltas, the real ones.

I've been following this and I think she also stole some guy's layout - which I understand is an uber no no - so that might be the crime that got her banned, rather than the tri_delta name. At any rate, (no pun) I don't understand what the point of a rating community is to begin with. Don't high schoolers get enough of that in real life?

I think you're right about her being suspended because of stealing the graphics. And as for the point of rating communities online...Photoshop can do wonders to a person's face that makeup can't!

that's correct, she created a new account and posted that her account was suspended b/c of stealing the background layout. she also wrote that they are going to change the name of the community b/c they were tired of everyone spamming their journals telling them to.
