Rho Gamma (Rho Chi, Pi Rho Chi, etc) Preperation
Hello!!
This fall, I'm going to be a Rho Gamma and I was wondering what type of things I should carry with me. I've heard to carry breath mints, clear nail polish, and safety pins, but I'd love any more suggestions!
Thanks!

Congrats! I was a Recruitment Counselor in 99, and it was an unforgettable experience!
Bottled water, advil, pens, a notepad, paper towels, tissues, an umbrella, mints or hard candies, bandaids, safety pins, clear nail polish and spray deodarant are great things to keep with you for the girls. Pack a couple nutrigrain bars each day, too. There's always someone who is about to faint b.c she forgot to eat.
Gifts...
For Greek Forum, when you meet your traveling group, I made my group little goody bags. I bought little white paper bags, and decorated the outsides with markers and stickers. It was sealed with curling ribbon. Inside were items that had been donated by different campus organizations: buttons, more stickers, little plush university mascots, magnets, pens, some candies, etc.
Each day, I gave the girls a little homemade present. One day, they got personalized bookmarks, another day it was notepads with their names on them, etc. On Prefs, I had written them each a little note on my stationary, wishing them luck and love. On Bid Day, I gave them cups with candy inside (again, personalized). They were thrilled with the little extras; I know it was motivating to know there was a "mom" figure who cared and would help them.

You beat me too it! That was exactly what I was going to say!
As far as what you need to bring....whatever you can think of! I know that's vague but there pretty much isn't a thing you can think off that someone might not need during rush. When I was a pi chi I even gave a girl my sandals one day when hers broke. I had to walk around with no shoes til lunch break! It was really funny. Anyway...have fun!!

Our Panhellenic has the Gamma Chis conduct small meetings before and after each round to go over what the PNM's can expect and tips for conversations.
We hand out a Do's and Don'ts for them as a guide (like DO smile, keep an open mind and have fun...DON'T bad mouth chapters, single int. pref etc...)
We also have "get to know you" games for each group. The GX's take them on campus tours, help them find classes, churches, resturants etc...
We are pretty much their Mom and Dad to help them get adjusted and relax during the Recruitment Process.
Hope this helps

Well, I'm not a recruitment counselor, but I thought I'd let you in on something cute my school does.
Each recruitment group formed their own "sororities". The recruitment counselors made up names, colors, and mascots for their group. We didn't have to wear our colors or anything, but it was a fun little ice breaker. It got us totally pumped up and made us feel really good---like we were Greek from the get-go!

At my school, I know the RX's try to learn random facts from each sorority, so that they can throw them out there and keep all the girls guessing.

a few tampons and sanitary napkins could be a life saver for any pnm who is "surprised" during recruitment.

Coffee filters- they help reduce oil and shine on your face. Especially helpful when it's hot!
A small sewing kit might come in handy for buttons ect.
