I don't know how many of y'all love Steve Martin as much as I do, but PBS just broadcast the night at the Kennedy Center, when he was given the Mark Twain Award for an outstanding comedian in the United States.

If you get a chance to see it, please do - it is amazingly funny!!

PS - Did I mention that Steve's a Delta Tau Delta? Did I mention that I met him while his mother was staying in town (as one of our clients)?

"Buried with his donkey!"

If you're old enough to remember when Gilda Radner died, they showed the bit about her & Steve dancing "happy feet"!! And of course, King Tut, Wild & Crazy Guys, etc.

Well, Michelle Pfeiffer did pledge ADPi, she just didn't get initiated. I was always told that he was a Delt (he went to California State University at Long Beach), but I could be wrong. Delts?

MIchelle Pfeiffer's hometown is actually where I live. I almost went to her HS but instead made a commute down to Laguna because that was where I lived before that. but anyways that is irrelevant. I was always heard that she went to Golden West community college. Did she pledge ADPi at Golden West community college?

Maybe she transfered to USC like all the other OC kids?

Out here, straight outta HS you usually go to Saddleback or OCC and then go to UCSB or USC. lol Freakin OC

hey Honeychile. Since you are a huge trivia nut. Did you know that Steve Martin went to the same HS as Michelle Pfiffer for a while? He is another OC kid. As is Diane Keaton.

When you asked, I checked out Steve Martin's bio - which is why I said that I could be wrong - and I did see his high school, and that he went to two different ones. I didn't know about the others, because I wasn't making any comparisons.

My godson was born in OC, so far be it from me to make fun of it!

SNL was amazing in those days. It's never been as good since. I do "happy feet" and kids think I'm crazy. Wild & Crazy Guys were awesome, so were the Lubner's. Those were the days!

My favorite line of of Steve Martin was "I was born a poor black child".. the beginning of The Jerk. But, my fave movie of his is All of Me.

He's awesome.

There was a special on SNL in the 70's, and I really wish I could get a copy of it - totally amazing!!!

The funny thing is, when he was in my office to set up care for his mother, he was 180 degrees from his screen self - very low key, but definitely wanted good care for his mother. And trust me, there are too many adult children who really don't care who's taking care of their parents, so long as it's not them!

It must be one of those urban legends, then. That was the big rumor among the Delts when I was in school.

Could be. On the other hand, it could be true. If so, though, I would think it would be on the Delt website or that I would have heard of it at some time.
