Cool Erik Conard

If you do not mind, I will take a moment to highjack The TKE Thread!

For many of you that dont really know Your Frater Erik Conard, He is One Crusty old Fart!

But you should remember, that I have known E C for longer than most of you are old!

He is a walking talking History Book of not only TKE but many other Greeks, Male and Female.

If some on the open threads would only understand that! I wish they would live and learn from Him!

While Erik will piss off a lot of people just as I do, I am proud to say that we are from the same cloth and time.

So, I give a tribute to Erik Conard!

OK Unky E, dont email me or call giving me stuff about embarressing you!

Sorry about the highjack, but could not keep myself from it!

The ghosts

He knows where the ghosts are buried, and tells a good story too. He can make history live.

I never knew Dick Hall, but surely he, Logan, RC Williams (he gave me his collection of Baird's Manuals), and Melchert are the great ones in post-WWII. Only Melchert still lives.

I suspect Tom would like all of the guys too. He's welcome around our chapter bonfire (probably used the chapter charter to start the fire)

Smile

HOOSIER, thank you for the compliment!

It is a shame that more TEKEs in the younger ages have not had a chance to sit with Erik Conard.

Actually, it is a shame that more Greeks have not had the chance to sit with him as I have and will in a few months.

E C is of the old school, work till you drop and then push harder.

He and I ment in 1965 and I had started a Local, Beta Chi. He saw in me something that said this guy wants to do His own thing. He reccommended LXA and I have nver looked back.

Erik was back in the hey day as I am sure Hoosier knows of expansion with LXA and TKE. Glory days for us when expansion was not on the plates of the old liners.

He always chides me with, "damn You would have been a fine TEKE". Which I in return always fire back, damn, you would have made a fine LX!

I hope some of you can meet Your Frater Erik P Conard one of these days. It is an experience beyond beleif.

Presently, E C is in the Denver Area. If you are near, get in touch with him!
