Public Service Announcement: Eleven days' Notice

A reminder for the women on GC who observe The Code: Memorial Day is May 31, so you might want to pull those white shoes, skirts, pants, dresses and accessories out of storage. Labor Day will be here before you know it.

Thank you for your attention.

I thought it was white after Easter and open toe shoes after May 24 in Canada and May 31 in the US.

I believe this has a lot to do with the climate where you are. In the North, it was always white after Memorial Day. If you wore white after Easter, you could get lost in a snow drift and they'd never find you. (Always thought that's why we had that rule.. to avoid getting lost in the snow).

Yes, my loves, you are correct. South of the Mason Dixon (give or take some) you may wear white anytime between Easter and Labor Day. North, it's only acceptable on Palm Sunday and Easter, and then not again until Memorial Day. Labor Day still applies.

Here's a link that says the rule used to be Memorial Day through Labor Day. Then it virtually invites people to ignore the rule. Oh well.
