Talking Countdowns...

LOL, I actually had a few free hours on my hands this afternoon and I was looking at my calendar. It amazes me how quickly the time flies by. It seems like only yesterday we were talking about our 100th anniversary--and I think that was 2001!

Now we're only 48 DAYS away from Centennial, and 96 DAYS away from Convention!

I wonder if 25 years from now, we'll all be fabulous middle-aged ladies reminiscing on GC about the Centennial and gearing up for the 125th-Anniversary Convention?

And a little off-topic but I'd like to know, we talk about IRD and Convention all the time, but is anyone doing anything special on our actual Founders Day? It falls on a Sunday this year, so for the women who are staying in town for Memorial Day, I would think that it would be a perfect opportunity to do something special.

HAHAHA... I was sitting here thinking "Will I still be around in 25 years?" Well, I hope I am, but I'm not making any bets!

Marie...don't forget that Meals-on-Wheels was started by an AGD!

After this weekend to Fla, taking a lot of clothes and didn't wear most of them, lol, trying to be conservative in the amount taken to Chicago so the lug. won't be that heavy, lol.

Marie and Dee, you're making yourselves sound geriatric and I KNOW you both are goddesses in the prime of your lives!

At worst, ya'll are going to be like the stylin' older alumnae the undergraduates adore! (True story: we had a bar at IRD two years ago, and I didn't want to order alcohol for fear of offending the little old 50 year members. No sooner had I ordered my ginger ale, than two tee-tiny seniors belly up to the bar and I hear them announce, "We'll have 2 scotch on the rocks please!" They were having themselves a grand old time, and I know I want to be just like that when I grow up! )

Nicole, you can't miss the tee-tiny senior squirrels, because the entire room lights up when they walk in! They are dressed to the nines and they're absolutely the cutest...seeing them interact with the 18 year olds is one of my favorite things about IRD.

Have fun! Our IRD is this Saturday too. We're expecting a BIG turnout!

The last I heard we were up to 134 women - WAHOO! I think that is the biggest IRD we have had in Southern California for a very long time. I am excited.

From what I got last night, there are three chapters that gather for IRD here in the Bluegrass. Epsilon's count is 138 (or so), Theta Upsilons is almost 90 and Gamma O is unknown but those are just the collegiates.

I had forgotten that it was this upcoming weekend, until yesterday... luckly I know the people in charge...
