Whatchu doing for Mardi Gras?
I can't decide if I'm going out or not. The Rock Bottom near me has $3 hurricanes and a $5 all you can eat crawfish boil, but my friends that live near there haven't answered as to whether or not they want to go out tonight.
Or I might go down to a bar in the town I went to school in and some of my co-workers live in, but the bar tends to have nasty dudes and even nastier chicks doing the wet t-shirt contest.
I'll probably just stay in and watch Real World. Oh well.

I gotta be at work in the morning @ 8:00a.m., so that's pretty much out of the question of going out tonight. I might go tomorrow since Peabody's Down Under will have a Mardi Gras Party from 9:00p.m. until. I have my V.I.P. Pass ready to go.

This just in: Rock Bottom is on.
We had hurricanes at my friend's house last year and I remember I was about 2 deep before I starting falling asleep on his couch. I am not a lightweight. I'll have to keep that in mind this year.

I really want to go out, but I have to work and I am poor. The Razzoos out here always has an awesome party going on. I worked at one a couple of years ago, and it was INSANE. I made $500 that one night. Maybe I can talk some friends into going out.....see how persuasive I can be.

Man, I hate being a real working woman! I have to be at work early in the morning to complete a project that is due tomorrow. So, my Mardi Gras will consist of stopping at the gym on the way home from work, feeding the kids (my pet fish and frog), and doing laundry! Yippie! I know everyone is jealous of my exciting life!!! Someone please drink one (or two) cold ones for me!

Another unfortunate soul who has joined the real world and has to work in the early am. My fun-filled night will consist of me going to SuperTarget and doing our grocery shopping for the week, going to the gym and then going home to finish reading my new InStyle magazine and watch my husband kill ancient Chinese soldiers from Dynasty Warriors 4. Follow that with a few potty and play sessions with our puppy and I have one jam-packed evening.
Joy.

I did the celebration last Saturday. I went to the parade in Soulard (which is the largest mardi gras celebration place after Bourbon, I think) and stuck around the area a few hours afterward. It wasn't as fun as it was when I went the last time, I think it was 2001. I don't know if it was the (cold) weather, I was watching the parade and not IN the parade unlike last time, or the people I was with. I couldn't believe that I actually got bored after a while. After the parade, it kind of got old after standing on the same street corner talking for like 3 hours. I was looking forward to touring the whole Soulard area and hitting every bar there, but that never happened.
The Good: I met a lot of cool new people. I also saw a lot of people I haven't seen in years.
The Bad: It was too many damn people at the parade and I was too damn short, so I didn't see 90% of the parade. The 10% I did see, I was sitting on a friend's shoulder, he got tired eventually, lol.
The Ugly: Seeing age 50+ women flashing their boobs! *gags*

We went out to eat some nice Creole cuisine and knock back a few hurricanes! The great part was when we got home and my husband made dessert---beignets in the shape of (dare I say it?) squirrels!!! It was freaking hilarious, I have to find a way to post a pic here.
