Happy, happy, happy!!!
Hello sisters!
It's been a while since I've posted on here, but I have some great news! Read on...
As I last reported, I had gotten in touch with a woman from Xi Zeta Eta. I went to a meeting in early January, and really enjoyed it. Everyone was really relaxed and friendly and welcoming. It was a business meeting, but afterwards we ate some really good food and played "Scene It?", a game that uses a DVD for some of the questions (a lot of fun!).
Later that week I went to a City Council meeting (evidentally it is a requirement to go to one during your pledge period no matter which chapter here you join). Not a very exciting meeting, but the Xi Zeta Eta sisters there were happy to see me.
The next meeting two weeks later was a social/surprise baby shower for one of the sisters. Unfortunately, I missed it because I had to work all day, and by the time I got off work I was BEAT! But I had kept in constant e-mail contact with the chapter president, and let her know what had happened, so she said just come to the next meeting.
So, the next meeting was another business meeting. There were only five of us there (including me; there had been a big ice storm a few days before, making roads messy), but it still was fun.
This past Saturday was the city council Valentine's Day dance. It was really neat to see Betas of all ages get together and have a good time! Okay, now here's the best part: All of the Beta sisters had just finished dancing to "We are Family", when the sisters of Xi Zeta Eta came to me and the chapter president said "We've talked about it, and we're offering you a bid to join us"!!!! YEAH ME!!!! I was so happy, I went around hugging them all!!
So, after almost a year, I have found my new Beta home here in Virginia with Xi Zeta Eta, a group of ten diverse, funny, open, welcoming, and caring women. Our next meeting is this coming Sunday. I can't wait; we're arranging pledge training for me and the two other pledges (who were already with the chapter) so that we can have our Ritual of Jewels ceremony by the end of the Sorority year!
Oh, and can I just say one more thing:
I LOVE BETA SIGMA PHI!!!!

Congratulations, Nicole! I am so happy that you finally found a new Beta home. Xi Zeta Eta is so lucky to have gained you as a new pledge.
Terrific news!!

BIG NEWS!
Remember how I said that my chapter would be doing our ROJ ceremony before the end of the sorority year? Well, they are: TONIGHT! I am soooooooooo excited! By the end of today, I will no longer be a pledge (thank goodness, it's about time). I meet with Holly at 6:45 to carpool, we're having the business meeting (and we're having elections too; I'm on the ballot for recording secretary and yearbook coordinator), and then: Ritual of Jewels ceremony! I can't wait! Just thought I'd share my good news with y'all (after all, you are my sisters ).
Beta Love,
Nicole
(one very happy girl)

Congrats! I am still awaiting a contact from a land chapter either here or within a 50 - 60 mile radius of here. Got in contact with nationals Friday and they are going to send me a list of currently active chapters as well as members looking for a land chapter so hopefully I will be in a land chapter thats active or friendly venturing my own pretty soon. Again congrats Nicole!
BSP love and mine,
Leigh Ann

Hey ya'll,
I have an update thats both bad, good and need your expertise on a process. The bad part is the woman who's like the City Council VP called me and told me that the perspective chapter has major issues and an older chapter in the area suggested them not take new members at this time. The chapter is like 3 months old and the president has already resigned. However, the VP that I talked to on the phone invited me to go to the meeting on Monday. So this is still a possibility however its a roller coaster ride at the moment sometimes things are looking on top of the world and sometimes things are looking on the bottom of the world (that was cheesy) anyway... today I got the packet I had requested from international listing the current members at large prospective members within a 50-60 mile radius of where I go to school as well as my hometown. She also sent the active chapters within that same 50-60 mile radius and there are 2 chapters who's ages range from 18-30!. I fall kinda in the young to mid range of that age range since i'm 22. Now for ya'll's expertise.....Do I just call these chapters and be like "Hey I'm Leigh Ann a BSP interested in joining a land chapter"? or do I contact international and they contact the chapter? Who do I contact to get that ball rolling? Thanks a bunch girls!
Leigh Ann
