hi-
i am in the processes of pledging to join an amazing chapter of alpha gamma delta at my school. the girls are amazing, i feel like i was never not a part of it. anyway, i rushed as a sophomore (what i am now) because my parents did not want me to rush as a freshman due to eating issues/cutting issues in high school that are fine now. but, as part of my parents side of me joining a sororoity is that i have to tell someone in my house who can contact my parents if the issues arise again. now, i just don't want to go up to a random person and say, "hey, i was.....and my parents want to be contacted if something happens again when i live in next year." i'm not worried about talking to someone in the house but i just don't know who. and i'd like to tell as few of people as humanly possible so i was wondering if you guys would have any ideas of who handles that kind of thing. i've had a chance to talk to more or less address the concern hypothetically with one of the officers (but i don't think i got my point across). anyway, i was just wondering if you had suggestions on who to talk to/how to tell them...i love agd already and i joined it becuase i felt accepted unlike other sororities on campus. anyway, thanks for your help and i can't wait to be a full alpha gam in less than a month!

I would suggest that you confide in your sister-mother. She is the person who you will probably develop the closest relationship with over the course of your new member period. Another good person to talk to is your New Member Educator (i.e., your "pledge mom.")

Good luck and remember that you get out of Alpha Gam what you put into it!

Welcome to Alpha Gamma Delta! I agree with greeklawgirl, your sister-mother is a great person to confide in. With time, you may have another close sister to share your past issues with. I agree with your parents, it is a good thing to have someone that can contact them. I had a similar issue myself and with a sister while living in the house.

Welcome to the Wonderful Sisterhood... I concer with Maria. I would also look at who will be living in the house and might notice issues should they arise. I know that I didn't live with my sis-dot except for about a year in the house... so I didn't really see her unless we planned something together or had lunch... but one of her roommates would have been good with intrusting with this info because one of them was with her all the time almost... so look into who will be around to help if needed.

Also you can always come chat with one of us. I know that you will never be alone on this board. Just let us know....

welcome to the fabulous sisterhood that is Alpha Gam! i can only hope that you enjoy it as much as we all do! i agree with everyone about talking to your sis-mom. my other suggestion is if there is someone in your pledge class that you have become close to. we didn't have houses at my school, so i'm not really sure how it works out with roomates and stuff. is there anyone that you feel close enough to room with in the house? maybe that's who you can confide in. and just remember, you can always come on here. everyone is always there for each other. There is an amazing group of women on this board.

Also, if you AIM, be sure to add yourself to the list so that way AGDLynn can invite you to one of the many chats that goes on!
