Why am I not at work today?

Because it is so freaking cold here that they cancelled school in the entire state! So now I have a four day weekend instead of a three day weekend! Being a teacher can have its perks

yeah, it's cold as anything here in boston as well - i know schools were closed here, not sure about colleges and that stuff.

all i know is i still have to work.

so did i. running next door to grab lunch wasn't all that fun! if only i like clam chowder i could have eaten the legal seafoods they were giving out in my building's lobby.

turned down legals clam chowder? you must really not like chowder, that stuff is good; not as good as Turner Fisheries, but pretty good.

luckily everything at the hospital is enclosed - if i get something from the cafeteria or one of the sandwich shops, i don't have to go outside (although the areas near the doorways are still pretty cold).

Geez, why can't it get that cold in Texas??? Even when it snows- the whole one time a year that actually happens- I STILL have to go to work. Like who is dumb enough to drive in the ice to go eat mexican food. REALLY. Can't wait til I am in the corporate office.

We had yesterday off as a snow day, but alas today was professional development so we all had to come in. It COULD have been a five day weekend...

I'm jealous

I telecommuted yesterday, but today I went in. My commute is pretty much all highway driving, so most of it isn't too bad (except for the tailgaters ). Unfortunately my town's snow removal plan consists of waiting until April, so the local streets are still a mess.

Monday is a regular work day for me, so I don't even get a three-day weekend!

Hahaha I am jealous for the cancellation, but DEFINATELY not for the coldness. I enjoy our Iowan *warm* weather, thank you very much. It is like, 35 outside. Boy, I can just wear t-shirts and shorts!
