Question Debutante Ball

Hello Ladies..i have a question..I am attending a Debutante Ball this weekend..It is at 8:00. Since it is an after 5 event..i know that evening "atire" is necessary..The question..is should it also be a long dress? I found a dress that stops at my knees and I am wondering if this is appropriate to wear to the Deb Ball? I am not a Deb..but just a spectator.

It usually depends on where you are in the country and the time of year. Since it's the winter, I'd say don't wear anything which exposes your legs.

I was a debutante. Boy that feels so long ago. We asked that guests wear clothing that is not flamboyant as not to take attention away from the debs. I would say be careful with showing legs. If it's above the knee, no. if below, that should be fine. Just be conservative.

The girls should look beautiful. Best wishes to all of them. I'm becoming nostalgic. I'm not going to cry....
