Hi everyone. I am the philanthropy chair from Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority here at the University of Illinois and I want to tell you a little bit about our upcoming philanthropy event! Deck the Halls will be our third annual holiday decorating contest. We ask participants to decorate their houses for the holidays and local celebrities judge the houses on creative decorating abilities and holiday spirit! This year our celebrity judges are the Holstein & Company Morning Show on WIXY 100.3, the local award-winning country music station! This includes Steve Holstein, Melissa Anfield, and "Dangerboy" Andy Roberts! The participants willl get a chance to meet them as they judge the houses!
Please note on the attached invitation that this is a Christmas OR holiday decorating contest! We realize that there are houses that may not celebrate Christmas due to religious (or other) affiliations and we do not want to offend them in any way. Money raised in this event will go to the Center for Women in Transition in Champaign, IL. This is an organization which provides empowerment counseling, referrals and advocacy to women who are endangered by domestic violence and/or substance abuse.
