World Cup 2003
Just for anyone who likes soccer and/or is paying attention to the Women's World Cup. I'm going to see Ghana vs. Russia and China vs. Australia at the Home Depot Center in LA. It's gonna be my first time attending an international soccer match, so it should be exciting.
Too bad I'll miss U.S.A vs Nigeria

Sorry, felt like posting
Sorry to bump this boring thread, just wanted to post my opinion.
Germany was completely classless. To score three more goal in the last 10 minutes after being up 4-1 already in order to "send a message" was just wrong. I know it's not worth winning if you don't win big, but there's winning big and just rubbing it in someone's face.
Unfortunately, Germany has a lot of weapons on offense, and it seems that the United States has been relying on Abby Wambach and Mia Hamm way too much (the same way China relied too much on Sun Wen). Unless they can stop that offensive blitz (they're the best at double teaming), Germany has too much creativity and just might beat the U.S. Just like in 99, I'll be routing for the States, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall.
Sweden won the air battle against Brazil, and I think they'll do the same against Canaduh. Our neighbors to the North were able to beat China because they beat them on the ground, and Canada's D towered over them, so playing it in the air was not the best strategy. Sweden will test them more on the headers, and I think that will lead the Swedes to victory.
Hopefully, it'll be the U.S.A vs. Sweden, and I'm keeping my hopes up.

I'm so excited because my mom and I are going to the 3rd place game at my school! We chose to go to this one for a couple of reasons: 1. it's cheaper... and 2. so we can watch the 1st place game in the comfort of our own living room-and see the ladies upclose and personal.
Stan~How'd you like the Home Depot Center? This will be the first time that I've been there, since they built it. My dad help build it, and said it's pretty nice.
Alrighty, so if you all see me on tv screaming my head off, wave! hehehe...

It was great. You can tell it's a soccer only facility; as opposed to most American stadiums, the HDC has those mini awnings you see in Euro stadiums, such as Wembley. I didn't get to go into the restaurant that overlooks the field, but from what I can tell, it would be a great place to watch the game. I was right near the midfield line, and even up close I could see the far side real well.
The biggest thing I noticed was how the HDC reflected sound. In a 20,000 seat stadium, maybe only 9,000 were filled, and maybe only 5,000 were going for China. But they were loud. REALLY loud. At one point they were chanting so much I couldn't hear the guy sitting next to me. Ghana played the game before, and their supporters had a 6 piece drum band at one end of the field, and I could hear them quite well on the other side.
My only complaint was that if you went to go to the bathroom or get something to eat, there weren't enough monitors around the concourse to keep track of the game. Other than that, it's probably the best soccer stadium in America (if that means anything), but I have yet to visit Crew Stadium. If I ever have a reason to visit Columbus, I'll be there.

Well it's sad that the U.S. team is going to be playing on Saturday... But I'm excited that I'll get to see them play! It should be a fun match. I hope some hot Canadian stud sits next to me!
Well I'm glad that you liked the stadium... I can't wait to see it. Everytime I'm on-campus I look over there, and can't believe how nice it looks from the outside (not to mention how huge it is too!)
Oh yeah... I'm so excited... this is my first "Pro" soccer game to watch in person. I honestly can't wait!!!

The US team is going to play in the third place game. I was in shock when they didn't advance to the finals. I saw some of them were crying. I hope they can repeat what in 1999 in the 2007 World Cup!
I don't know who to root for in the final and the 3rd place games.

Third Place: I don't care if Charmaine Hooper can score, and that Lang girl is cute, Canaduh will still get rocked by a pissed off USA team. USA 4-1
Final: Germany can beat Sweden's game in the air, and then some. Germany over Sweden 3-1.

Cmon man. Germany has an incredible front line that even the US couldn't stop Meinert and Prinz and that one girl who looks like a guy with a pony tail that scored the first goal against the US.
Hey man, I want Sweden to upset them too cause I don't want the team that beat the USA to win. I'm just looking at it numberswise. Who knows what could happen. Who would have thought Canada would beat China?
