Where were you when the lights went out?
That blackout was some mess. We didn't get our power on until 3am this morning. Lots of people are still without power. Well, I know where I was when the lights went out, on greekchat of course! boo hoo.
Of course there are conflicting statements about what really happened. Was it lightning, terrorism, and who's fault was it Canada or US? All I know it was soooooo inconvenient. Well, at least Chinese take out was still open.

Has ANYTHING in the history of disaster been so bad that it's shut down Chinese take out? I remember this winter we had about 3 feet of snow (which is a lot for us in South Jersey) and those poor bastards were STILL delievering!
I guess what they say is true, only three things can survive a nuclear holocaust (besides the upcoming cast of Terminator 4):
cockroaches
twinkees
and Chinese delivery
mmmmm... pork fried rice....

I was at home. I was taking a nap and the dogs kept waking me up. I finally got up and then the power went out. It was out for a little over 12 hours here in Toronto. It came back on at 5am. All I here is the air conditioner start up again and the computer resetting itself.
Everything is working fine now except my cable.

Ok so I am not on the East coast and most everyone here has power here in Columbia, except for MY house and Farmhouse. Stupid power people were working on our stuff last night and they put a bad generator in and EXPLODED all our lightbulbs, fried peoples TV's, computers, etc. and our AC doesn't work. It's at least 95 degrees here and we're trying to redo our walkout since Panhel changed the rules YESTERDAY and it is a mess. I just want to die, this sucks so bad!!!!!! At least I live in the annex and we have AC and everything but too bad I am not in here for the majority of the day, just for like 15 minutes. BOOOOOO!!!

I was at home, watching the whole thing on CNN.
Shouldn't this maybe go in the ChitChat forum?

OK, how's this for ironic.
I live in Colorado. Earlier this week, I'm sitting in my office and at about 4:30 PM, the power goes out. I wait until about 5:00 and give up and go home.
At 7:30 that evening, the power at home goes out and doesn't come back on until 6:30 the next morning.
I guess it just took a long time to get to the East Coast.

I was at home, lights flickered, but I thought it was just my house... went downstairs to watch TV and randomly went to NBC, found out what was happening, then got on the phone calling my dad and sister who work and intern in the city, then my mom who was stuck on a train coming home from work.
