Really Random
So I went to the pet store today to buy my hamster ( I live in a dorm, its the closest thing to a real pet they met me have! ) some more food, and guess what it on the shelf, a hamster litter box! Who knew they made such things! So of course I had to purchase it to see what happens, lo and behold my hamster is now using it! What other weird college pets did you guys have, I also have a hermit crab (but that one is a long story!)
Love,
Kel

A hamster litter box?! What a super idea... I've never owned one (a hamster, I mean... not a litter box), but always thought little caged, furry things smelled weird, so perhaps that reduces the stench?
I knew a guy who had a dog in the dorms... that one didn't stay secret for very long. He got rid of it after a few weeks, but it was fun while it lasted.
We always had fish and lizards... I hate fish though, the lizards were way cooler. I also kept a kitten in my room for awhile, and never got caught.

yeah some guys on my campus have dogs. As an upperclassmen we have condo style housing so its not hard to keep one there, but I still live in a reagurlar dorm (messed up housing last year ) so its not an option for me!

We had a bunny that lived in a cage under my roommate's bed for most of this semester. But, let me tell ya, those rabbits stink to high heaven and those wood chips fly everywhere. But it was the cutest little thing, and it was fun to have the contraband bunny when all we are allowed to have is fish.

I have a White's Tree Frog. I went to the store to purchase a lizard, but came home with this happy, hoppy creature. He's the best and I've had him for 3 years....and he's supposed to live for 25 years or so He has sticky pads on his hands and he likes to climb the walls I love my froggie!

Hey Kel!
How's your hamster doing? I love mine and I tried the litter box thing but they were decidedly NOT interested. Oh well!
Do you have one of those ball thingees for the hamster to run around in? If not, you should get one because mine love theirs!

My roommate had a goldfish. Its bowl was on the ledge above my bed so I was afraid that it would jump out onto my bed while I was sleeping. It didn't luckily.

I think I'm going to go buy some fish for my apartment soon. I miss having a pet around me.
On a side note, birds are the most annoying pet (imo).

I have 3 bettas.. my housing place didn't allow pets unless they were 'fully aquatic'
I used to be an RA, and we would hear all kinds of crazy things down the hall... dogs barking... cats meowing... hehehe. One time I was asked by the hall director to help another RA 'confiscate' a puppy that was in someone's bathroom and barking really loud (suite plans) It was a really cute puppy... but unfortunately the girl had to drive it home that weekend

My roommate Heather and I are getting a Betta this summer. We're living together this fall too, so even though we're not allowed to have pets at the sorority house, she and I are living in the annex which is a) not as nice as the main house and b) no one on exec ever goes in there....we're going to name him Machi. That means fish in Hindi. Yea my mom came up with that one haha. I am excited though!!!

In the dorms I had 2 hamsters, 5 gerbils, and a fish my freshman year, and a guinea pig and rabbit my sophomore year...now that I'm living in a house, I live with my roomate's pets, 2 Cockatiels, 1 African Grey Parrot (smartest breed of parrot, can learn language of an avg. 3yr old human), 1 Cat, and 1 turtle...I really want a puppy, but the landlords say no...oh well
