you know your pathetic when you can't rush to next fall (04) but spend every day on greek chat gathering information, going to the HQ and local website of the GLO of your school, and going to the forum for each National of your school. Are already building up your closet for Rush, and asking questiong like you are rushing this fall!

I am so excited now, but I have to wait. I just can't picture my self this time next year! I know I am sad.

rainbow, i gotta question??? you're going to be a pnm fall '04 right?? does that mean you're in highschool still? if so, how did you first learn about sorority life and become interested in it?? i know that i didn't even think about it until i got to college and rushed last fall, and I've just recently been getting more involved in my sorority. i think it's fantastic that you're learning all about the sororities now so that you can make a more informed decision during rush. i also want to know if anyone else was heavily influenced by fraternities/sororities while they were in highschool, because I know that it's not a big thing where I'm from.

Where do you want to go to school UGA? If so, its good you are getting such an early start on figuring out how to get a slight edge

sorry kinda long.

no, actually, I graduated high school june of 02 (in AZ). I took a semester off while I moved to GA. My insurance makes me be a full time student of it lose my medical, so I go to a local comunity college now. Which means I could transfer to my college of my choice,(West GA, in Carrollton) in Spring of 04. But several reason pushing me back untill summer, of 04. Which means I will rush in Fall of 04.

I when I do so, I will be 4 months from my 21 B-day.

and for your other question, why did I come up with the idea of rushing. Well I have 3 reason.the first is kinda weird, but it happened over some time, like a year.
I worked (in Arizona) with this girl that was so sluttly, I mean always going to a club, and I had to hear about all the guys she met. Well she when to ASU, and one of her friends convinced her to Rush this historically hispanic (which there are several there) sorority. And I saw her change. She was became a memeber, which at first confirmed my idea of greek life, a bunch of whores. Then she began talking about her charities ( and not about guys any more) her grades where perfect. She met a wonderfull guy, (and is now engaged to him) And she was always talking about her sisters. She showed pictures and everything. They looked to happy. I then relizedd that they saw something in her (past the club happy whore) that they new she would make a wonderfull sister. I even meet some of her sister. They were so great.

My second reason happen right after this. I was watching Legally Blond (i love that movie) with some friends. One of them made the comment about how wonderfull they are (Helping Elle when she was dumped , and then Helping her study for the LSAT)and she would love to join, but they are not really like that. I was like, yeah they are. I saw it. I have seen the sisterhood. They may not be shopping fanatic like her. but it is real. Then I started to fill, why can't I have that. If they (sisters) can see something beautifull deep sone inside of mwe like they did the ASU girl, why can I have that kind of love and friendship.

My 3 reason, was I met this wonderfull girl. She was a perfect southern belle (she goes to UGA) and was so sweet and I just loved her. They confided in me that she was depressed and sucidal. She told me that a friend suggest to rush, well she wsa given a bid and her sister helped her. She is so happy now. That all the therapy in the world would not have done what her sister did.

These are why I am going to Rush. I want the love and life long friends. I want to cry on some ones shoulder and have them cry on mine. I want them to change me for the better. I want to make a difference in the community (if not the world) I want to give and recieve. I want to be 65 and have my college room mate come to dinner. I want to walk in to a room with stranger and have them come up to me becuase they know I am in XYZ. I don't want to be afriad of going up to a stranger becuase she is an alumini of XYZ!

I hope i put that correctly with out making me sound selfish.

I think that it is great that you are so enthusiastic about sororities and going greek!

Wow, rainbow! I'm really impressed! It looks like you have thought things out a lot and have your priorities straight. As mentioned earlier, it's terrific that you are planning ahead. You are going to make a terrific sorority sister

thanks, that makes me feel that I am doing this for the right reasons. That waiting a year will only make it more worth-while.
