Question How would you take it?

First and foremost I am new to this board and I would like to say how wonderful it is. Ladies, how would you take it if the only undergraduate AKA member on your campus is graduating in the Spring? . I go to a school that is on quarters and I don't want to jump ahead or assume,..but I don't think that they are going to have anything this quarter(only 3 weeks left). I definitely don't want to assume that it will be next quarter. I know that graduation is a time of preperation and focus, which I definitely know she will be doing. How would you take this?

It's possible the chapter could be dissolved.

Question

If a chapter becomes disolved, could a new chapter ever be delevoped at the same school?

Good morning everyone.

If there is only one AKA remaining on the campus, then it's plausible to say that the chapter has probably been dissolved (don't hold me to this as I don't know what campus we are referring to). An undergraduate chapter needs a particular number in order to remain active. You know, as I was typing that, I just thought of something else. If the chapter continues to have membership under a certain amount, THEN that chapter will be brought before the general body to be dissolved (again I think....don't have my documents near me). I know of some chapters that were dissolved at the Chicago Boule in 98 due to inactivity.

A chapter can be reactivated if there is general interest on the campus and the numbers are right. However, it's not an easy process.

Hopes this helps!

Thank you AKAtude and Crooklyn08 for your responses. Crooklyn, you stated that a chapter can be reactivated if there is interest and also if the numbers are right. If I may ask, what is a good number? There are a good number of girls here who are interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha. If it isn't for me to know then I understand.

Hello there again. To my knowledge, there are at least 7 who are genuinely interested. Who knows what may come of it. I pray that everything goes well this coming quarter (2 more weeks until current one is over). I don't want to bother her or interrupt her plans that she has before graduation. I am proud that she is graduating. For all I know, they might have something. Until then....
Thank you Ladies for all of your answers and support.
