Beckham sign with Real Madrid

Madrid Agrees to Buy Beckham From Manchester United, Sky Says

June 17 (Bloomberg) -- Real Madrid, which has already put together the most expensive team in soccer, agreed to buy Manchester United midfielder David Beckham for as much as 35 million euros ($41.3 million), Sky News reported citing Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

Madrid will pay an initial 25 million euros for the captain of England's national soccer team, plus another 10 million based on the player's and the Spanish club's performances, the report said. Madrid will pay the fee in five installments.

Telephone messages left at Real Madrid and Manchester United offices weren't immediately returned.

Dammit. I know Sir Alex needed to make room for new talent, but why get rid of the biggest name on the team?

Ah well, we still have Ruud.

And, I wonder if he'll be able to adapt to Spanish football. Much more precise, much more technical.

I knew there was no way he was going to Barcelona because Barcelona wasn't playing any European football next season.

I think this is a very bad move for Beckham because he is definately not going to be ablet o keep up with the technical precision of Spanish football. Plus, I always felt that Figo is a much better Right Winger then BEckham cause he can cross, pass, shoot and dribble. Beckham can't dribble that well, which is needed for Spanish football.

Anywho, I herd he'll be making around $140,000 a week not including bonuses, and endorsement. I'll be happy to make that in a year.

They make Steinbrenner look like a cheap skate, especiallly within the last 3 years. They went on a spending spree. I was so happy that they didn't make it to the final. Tells you that super star egos does not equal to championship, they must gell to give you that championship.

Didn't he already ink an endorsement?
I think I heard that somewhere.

THey said that he's all upset because they are using him. HELLO?!?! They do that in sports all of the time. Now he sees that he's made himself a pawn.
