A "Tuck In" is a fundraising event usually run by a sorority, in which guys living in dorms pay to get tucked in bed by girls in the minutes before visiting hours are up.

Derby Days. Derby Days is run by Sigma Chi and helps raise money for their philanthropy which I believe is Children's Miracle Network. They have event all week for the sororities and the chapter on our campus *don't know if it's nation wide* have something where we make a bedsheet and bedslat and decorate them and then auction them off. Also, the guys wear Derby hats *hence Derby days* and you chase them down and get their hats and they have to give you some kind of point to get their hat back. Don't give it back if you don't get points. I have a hat from last year b/c the guy ran out of points! *l* We found it easier to grab hats by having friends walk with you behind them and just rip it off---and we didn't wear letters so it was easier! *HAHA* It's fun though.

Tuck-ins at my school are something that "guardian angels" (sort of pre-big-sisters) arrange for their "little devils" (new members) during the pledge period. Our guardian angels came and picked us up around 9pm, and then we all gathered in one new member's dorm room where we got chocolate chip cookies and were read a story (Green Eggs and Ham) and serenaded by some of the boys from Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (music fraternity). It was fun!

Here, tuck ins are where a guy can buy a ticket for a sorority sister to go tuck him into bed and read him a bedtime story. FOr the past few years, Chi O did it as a pledge class fundraiser, but it has the potential to be trouble or really scandalous so it ended with our pledge class because our pledge trainer didn't want "her babies" to have to do that. I was glad because I really really did not want to.
