Why did you join AGD?
Alright ladies..we'll all be returning to school soon and I just wanted to get us in the spirit of sisterhood and Recruitment. I thought we could share why we joined AGD...it reminds me to encourage others to take part of Recruitment and find a sisterhood as wonderful as ours.
I don't know about y'all but I have never claimed to be the "typical sorority girl" and I never will. But there was something about those Gams that made me want to be a part of them. I wasn't even planning on going through Recruitment...I had already paid to go snow skiing (we have Recruitment in Jan). Yet, my friends said they wanted this to be an experience that we all share together, no matter the decisions we made regarding signing a pref card...they were pretty convincing to say the least. And honestly, overall I did not enjoy Recruitment...I'm just not "the type," but I did enjoy the AGD parties. At Pref Night a girl (now my Big!) spoke with me and told me her story of how before AGD she could never have seen herself in a sorority. Boy could I relate to that! Well, needless to say, I knew where I belonged...and that was in AGD. AND, all 8 of my friends that rushed along with me...well they are not only my friends now, but my sisters as well!
This past year I told my story to a girl at Pref Night whom I had become friends with early on during Fall semester. She said that totally sounded like her. Well, she's my Little now! So, now I look for the girl that could never picture herself in a sorority, but has so much to offer one...the one that didn't have any concept about sororities except for what she'd heard through gossip or a Beverly Hills 90210 episode. lol I let her know that she too can share in a wonderful sisterhood as well...one that she wouldn't give up for anything...one like the one I have with my sisters!
