Fall Rush 2001
Okay, it is that time of year again.. time to think about NEW SISTERS!! <Cheers from the crowd, roars and laughter and a lot of women losing their hair>
Anyways, Just a reminder to Alum to PLEASE FILL OUT RIF forms!! And also this can be our little place to discuss our rushes!!
OH BOY OH BOY!!! Besides I need your help keeping me sane since I am VPR!
Okay, and on a good note, I got a RIF in the mail today and it is for a DOUBLE LEGACY (Her grandmother and sister!). How awesome is that!?! I just know if we don't get her it will be our throats though!! So that makes me nervous!
Oh well!! Hope everyone is having a great summer, didn't mean to scare you but please let's get this in the open then we can all breathe through the contractions together!

I am so looking forward to Fall Rush! Since school got out we've had AGD Craft Days on some Sunday afternoons to prepare for rush. We've made goodies like Pinwheels and red, buff, and green ponytail holders. We've also painted our letters on these cute little planters that we're going to use for Philanthropy night for one of the Rush events.
What I am most excited about is the launch of our new website. It's only a matter of days before it'll be posted, so keep checking back often. We're hoping to launch it before we leave for Atlanta. I saw a preview of it yesterday, and I am positive that it's going to help us recruit new girls!
That's great about the double legacy! We've received one RIF so far from a legacy (grandma is an AGD). I'm also excited because I think we're having a young woman affiliate with us in the fall! Darnit, I can't remember what chapter she's from.
I look forward to hearing all your rush stories!

You are all so enthusiastic about recruitment. If any of you are interested, we here at the University of Tampa need as much help and support that we can get. This is the largest number of women going through formal recruitment (over 300 women). We have 12 sisters returning to school, and non of them have ever been through formal recruitment. Since we were installed as a chapter in February of 2001, we could use all the help we can get. If you are interested in coming to Tampa, Florida, please e-mail me and I will help with any questions.

Hey AGD4Life, do any of your sisters happen to live in Clearwater? I am vacationing there next month and it would be cool to run into some AGDs.

Leslie,
There are tons of us in the Clearwater area. Clearwater is only like 20 minutes or so from Tampa. When are you coming because maybe you could meet up with some of us during a Junior Circle event.

AGD4life, I am a sister of Gamma Omega. We are located at UAB. I'm sure if you contacted our chapter advisor we could help out.

What are some of the themes you all use for recruitment? We changed ours from last year, since other GLOs on campus had similar ideas. We are still looking for creative ideas. Thanks.

ILOVE--what kind of a skit do you perform? Maybe that would be something different for our chapter to try during Recruitment this year. In the past, we have just stuck to the basics: singing, meeting girls, and watching a slide show for our parties.

We have three rounds of parties. At our first one we do a getting to know you night where we meet the women and show them the chapter houses (you can see them now at http://thetaiotaagd.homestead.com/home.html) and the second round everyone does theme parties where we do skits. It is fun. You start off by talking to the girls and then you have a skit while you let them sit and drink a lemonade or something. It is a singing dancing type skit. you have a main character (Amy Alpha Gam is the one we are using now) who shows lost rushees how to find there home in Alpha Gamma Delta. It is really cheesy but it is fun. We decorate the room in a Hawaiian theme (at least a KY girls thoughts of Hawaii OTW!) and the skit is about ten-fifteen minutes. Then we talk to the girls some more and lead them out. THe last round is preference. I helped restruction a whole new preference ceremony for our chapter this year. I am so excited about it. If you want more info feel free to e mail me. Sorry I was gone on vacation and I am just now getting caught up on the greekchat issues!
